I was definitely over charged and some things were broken and a small about of things are missing. I also had to help pack and move things into the apartment and had to unpack all of my belongings. …
Calling this the worst move of my life is an understatement. They moved us from Brooklyn to Chicago. 1. NO communication about where our stuff was, when it would arrive. 2. DRASTICALLY underestimated the weight of the move causing nearly $1,000 in overages. 3. Sent a truck that was too small so a significant number of things had to be strapped to the outside of the truck. 4. Not surprisingly, they lost a $500 bike. 5. Showed ABSOLUTELY zero compassion about the stress they were causing us until I complained. 6.
Pricing doesn't have anything to do with the estimation they give and the estimation is the first criteria to hire the company. Given all the details (locations, elevators, floor, detailed number of items in each room) they gave an estimation and they were slow and charged incredibly higher than the estimation. In the end, the final price was 35% higher than the estimation, then, why need the estimation? They didn't make any discount and just said they need to make the collection.
The only reason I gave this company 2 stars is because the movers were great guys but I got robbed something serious. My husband was quoted one price but we ended paying double almost triple the amount and we still had to carry some of our …

We chose Steinway moving to handle our transfer from Brooklyn, NY to Monroe, NJ because of their reputation and excellent record with the BBB and Federal agencies. Their prices were very competitive and they were willing to accommodate our move from two separate locations into one new home. This was done over a two day period with pick-up and delivery at each location taking one days time.

Moving is never easy but Steinway Movers really made the experience go very smoothly right from the beginning when our new home was not going be ready when we had to be out of current home. Steinway Moving planned one move to our temporary place and another to put our remaining items in storage until the permanent move. On both moves their movers were on time, reviewed with us exactly what had to be done and then executed the work quickly.

My company recently worked with Steinway Moving for our office relocation from Lower Manhattan to Brooklyn. Throughout the moving process we had an incredibly positive experience working with Jay, Pat, Bryan and their teams. They were detail oriented, one step ahead of the game and worked diligently to get our many, many items relocated with care. It was a pleasure to work with them and they were able to significantly lessen the overall stress and chaos one would associate with an office move.
This was my first time hiring a moving company, but I have to say that Steinway did a fantastic job! My move was coordinated by Joe Hamill, who was an absolute pleasure to work with.
