In their own words
Not sure what happened with this highly rated company, but I had one of the worst moving experiences with 3 Star. They set a date and took all of my info, made me a great quote, then proceeded to lose my information, etc. It's a good thing I called them two days ahead of time or we would have had no one to move us! When our movers showed up, it was 2 hours later than our original set time. They had a smallish sized truck, smaller than other movers we have used.
I was walking home from the Saturday market to find a 26-foot box truck blocking the sidewalk*, It was also idling. I called the office to ask if it would be there long since the day was beautiful and our windows were open. I told the receptionist to ask the driver to shut it off meanwhile they unloaded, she said it is against policy. I told her its against the law to block the sidewalk , it diverts children into the street on there way to the park.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
I have utilized Three Star Moving for three prior in town moves within Portland, and most recently a Oregon move. They've always been well priced, responsible, quick and efficient, on time, and have always communicated very well during the the moves. Definitely recommend them!
I was told that the team would be professional and use the most efficient means possible, but found that I had to provide a lot of direction and items were often left behind if not mentioned. They may have eventually made it into a box, but I prefer to have everything kept together when possible. Mychael, Alian, and Josh seemed to mean well but I didn't feel they provided much expertise. I did address the issue with the company upon completion and was somewhat compensated with a discount.
When I got my divorce, I truly appreciated their quick efficient service moving me out of my house of horrors. Really reasonable price and quick service. In addition to all that they didn’t break a thing.
Carlos and Pedro were phenomenal movers. They were efficient, careful and communicated so nicely throughout the entire process. I highly recommend and would definitely use them again!
