Don't judge this book by the cover! The initial visit for price quote was great. They appeared to be very professional. I made it clear that I was moving from Garden City to NYC and my NYC building will not let you move in past 5:00. I also said I would pack up my kitchen and small knick-knacks, but wanted them packing everything else. I wanted to make sure they packed my lamps and large glass object because I knew if I packed them and they were damaged insurance would not pay.
Thank you for your review. We did understand that you needed an 8AM move start in Garden City because your building manager required that your move would be completed by 5PM in Manhattan. Unfortunately, two (2) circumstances prevented us … More
We were considered a "high end" move where we had to put 80% of our furniture in storage for a few months. We had several items damaged. Literally cracks in custom made furniture. While it was wrapped OK, it seemed like they were dropped …
Thank you for your review Mr. Hauser. Please accept our sincere apology that damage was sustained during your move. We did settle your claim promptly based upon the type of insurance you choose for your move and -- although it may be of small consolation -- in addition to the $1,200.00 we paid you…
Absolutely terrible tractor trailer driver tailgating and passing on the right on a highway! No regard for other people on the road. Unsafe and wreckless
Thank you, Mr. Farmer. If this was our driver, we need to take corrective action. To make such a determination, it would be helpful to know the truck's license plate number and/or the time and location of this incident. Atlas Van Lines operates thousands of trucks across America's highways.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

I highly recommend Avatar Moving. I received estimates from several other moving companies, but they attempted to estimate the job over the phone, which did not feel reliable. I could not understand how anyone could accurately quote the move without seeing everything involved. I was extremely pleased that Avatar Moving sent an estimator to my home. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and accurate, and he gave us several useful tips to make the move easier.
This review was written in regards to my move in February 2015 to ON, Canada. Due to the mistake in handling the paperwork and designating a wrong recipient in transporting my furniture to my family in Canada. I had to obtain a power of attorney to correct the mistake, which caused extra cost (notarization fee and expedited courier fee of the original documentation to be sent to Canada) and a 2-week delay in releasing the goods at the border. When I decided to hire Avatar to handle my cross-border move.
Thank you for your review Ms. Chow. We accept responsibility for providing you with incorrect information about the paperwork requirements for your household shipment into Canada. The Avatar Relocation employee who gave you the wrong … More
We planned to move out-of-state from NYC. I checked the reviews for many moving companies and found many horror stories. Avatar Relocation had many 5 star reviews. I called Avatar and met with Chris, who discussed my move and gave me an estimate. I told Chris that I would select his company based on the many positive reviews of his company and the feeling that I had about his company. Rob and his crew handled our move in mid-June. They were very professional, efficient and conscientious.
Avatar Relocation helped us with our move from Brooklyn to Long Island, which included putting most of our furniture and boxes in storage for 3 months. Their service and staff are very professional while still being kind and caring. They took such great care of our furniture and belongings as if it was their own. They prepped our floor so that everything stayed neat and didn't get marked up, they arrived at the exact time they were suppose to and they were finished within 4 hours.
