Barrie Moving Company - AMJ

BEWARE of this company and their FRAUDULENT, unprofessional practices! They will keep your credit card number on file and will charge you thousands of dollars at will long after your final bill is paid, claiming they “FORGOT” to charge this or that!!! I have never seen any type of business decide they did not charge you enough on their final bill and then without any type of communication charge your card without your authorization.We booked a full pack/unpack move with them.

Disappointed, thought going with a well known company our belongings would have been protected but they were not. We had our 8 year old sons oculus headset stolen, my Bushnell range finder stolen. Packed them in specific ways so that I knew exactly where they were and they are both gone. When the movers from out west were unloading we realized that the movers in barrie that loaded us did not tag all of our stuff and had a lot of belongings that were untaged as they were in a rush to be done by a certain time.

Poor service. We were supposed to receive a quote DAYS ago and there has been no response. We won't be using AMJ Campbell since they are aren't even reliable enough to give a quote when they say they will.

It started off great, we had a huge truck with about 5 guys. The owner of the crew was great but his help not so much. Carrie 1 box at a time, ended up costing me huge! I told the guys if they wanted a drink to help themselves to drinks in the fridge and they helped themselves to everything. Cigarettes, food, and beers which weee not offered to them. They also were eating their lunch in one of the upstairs bedrooms. A lot of sitting around by 2 guys.

I decided to hire AMJ Campbell for my residential out of town move. I went against what I normally do and hoped to have a stress free, calm and pleasant day. When the 4 man crew arrived to my home to get started already instaneously the driver started speaking his mind on how he was unhappy with the price the company accepted this job. That was very disturbing right off the bat to hear from the crew that was moving my entire home with alot of valuable things!

Delivery drivers multiple times have shown up 1-2 hours before delivery window given and then leave when I am not home (as I’ve planned my day AROUND the window I’ve been given by AMJ). I call the drivers and they essentially don’t care and are too lazy to come back from the sounds of it. They said that if it’s happened so many times then I should know to be there earlier..

overall displeased. Proper size trucks weren't used, the manpower was insufficient for the job, our things were stored over a long weekend (they should have suggested starting a day prior to our closing date if they suspected it would take longer than a day to move rather than making seniors sleep on a hard floor for 2 days) what REALLY drove me to write this review is our missing tool.

If you ever have to move please please please don’t pick AMJ Campbell. If you know someone who is moving. Tell them. After 3 weeks of wondering where everything we own is… the truck has just arrived. It’s all ruined. Destroyed. Brand new living room set. New bedroom set. Every. Single. Box. Computer. Monitor. Coffee tables. If the box had something breakable… it’s broken. The people who delivered in PEI said in 12 years they had never seen anything packed so badly.
