In their own words
We hired Coakley Brothers/ Allied moving to move our household items on July 31 to be moved to our new home in Anthem, AZ on Aug 6/7. Ken Kruk, the salesperson gave us a bid of approximately $7200, which covered loss and mysterious disappearance and would eliminate any deductible should the movers lose or damage our items. When it came time to move our things, the movers were 4 hours late in arrival.
We hired Coakley Bros. in April 2023 to move us in the same neighborhood, about 4 blocks. They gave an initial quote, which I asked for a revised estimate with only large items included, as we moved a lot ourselves since it was a short move. We used them mainly for our furniture. We paid the movers at the end of the move, the check was cashed, no communication otherwise, and then I get this random bill without any explanation a month later.
We sold our house and needed to store almost everything, besides our bedrooms for about a year. We had to undergo our new remodel and addition before we could move everything into the new home. When I was first quoted that they "could get this done for us", it would cost us about $12k. This did not include the $1k per month in storage or the eventual $10k move-in. The $12k was just the move out. To my own fault, I did not read thoroughly enough through the paperwork.
Coakley Brothers was the desination agent for my move to Milwaukee last spring. After the move they fabricated $2200 in additional charges and have since then attempted to extort the money from me by threatening legal action. I recommend you go with a more reputable business.
We will never use Coakley Brothers again. When our move became a two-step process, we could not get an updated quote. Calls not returned. E-mails not answered. By then it was too late to get another mover. Invoice did not reflect actual time utilized (as promised). "We only charge for the time used,"... right... We had to meet with them at their office to get an invoice showing time and supplies utilized. In the end we paid much more for our move than planned and more than other companies quoted.
Where do I begin? They were on time to pick up all of our possessions in WI to be delivered to SC. It was to take 3 days to get our items. Since another client cancelled their move at the last dog, they hung around WI for several more days trying to get another load on their truck. It took 11 days to get our things. They were delivered to a storage facility where we kept them for 6 months.
We started out on the right page with Coakley for our June move out of state. We had all the inventory completed, the at risk items identified and a plan to protect them, plus the logistics for our move to a hilly, mountain area which was going to make the driveway tricky with a box truck. Then, things changed. Just 9 days before our move, I get a call from the Owner, Peggy Coakley, telling me that they can pick up our stuff but they don't have a driver, so we would have to store our stuff for an unspecified…
Carol, We are very sorry about the unusual change in resources regarding your move. This has been an unprecedented time in the moving industry. As an Agent of Allied, we have been a high-rated long-distance provider since the 1930’s and a successful local moving firm since 1888.
First time ever using a moving company. Couldn't have been a more horrible experience. They lied from the first phone call, quoted 3 guys and 4 1/2 hours. They said they needed a 4th guy which made the price per hour go up. Then 4 1/2 hours was 8 1/2 do to these so called movers talking and taking so much time to load and unload a truck. Worst part my husband moved all boxes the day before so just furniture took 8 1/2 hours. Quoted $895.00 and at the end almost $1800.
Hi Sandra, We are sorry about your experience with our service. We pride ourselves in our level of accuracy using an in-home consult or online virtual walk-through consult. It is not usual that we would quote over the phone. We hope that you are settling in ok your new home and staying well.

In their own words
This company has accommodated me last minute and provided a 5-star service! The movers very very friendly and professional, they worked carefully and quickly, and made the process of moving to a different state much more manageable. The price wasn’t an issue for me since my new job was paying for all expenses. None of my furniture was damaged and arrived safely and on time to my new place.
Hi Katya, that is how we roll. We have a large and popular team of full-time service professionals. If we have availability for those last minute requests, we are eager to please! Thank you for your stars! See you in the future, Your Coakley Brothers Team
We had an amazing experience with Coakley Brothers! After we experienced a fire at a different storage facility which was devastating, we called Coakley Brothers. Michael was a tremendous help to us. He offered support, resources and complete flexibility for our unique circumstances. We were reassured that we had a place to go to store the items we were able to salvage. Michael was so responsive to our many calls, questions and concerns. He offered many services that Coakley could provide for us.
Our experience with Coakley Bros. was first-rate. Professional, hard-working, efficient, courteous and careful - these are the qualities you want in a moving company. Kudos to Dan, Calvin, Shawn, Eddie and Spencer for such a great job - at a very fair price. These are the guys you want to move you. This was a residential move from MKE suburb to Downtown.
I was very wary of using long distance movers as I have heard nothing but negative comments about the experience but I really did not want to move myself from Milwaukee to Las Vegas. I have to say my experience was perfect and I could not have been happier. The in home estimate was pretty close to what the end charges were (we had more in storage than we thought so that really is our fault for the extra weight) and ended up being just slightly more than what a Uhaul rental truck + gas would have cost so it was…
