In their own words
I hired this company to help pack. First I wanna start off by saying the guys that came were nice and tried really hard. I was moving across county and needed everything packed and I only had the garage left. I scheduled a month early.. they rescheduled on me a few days before they were supposed to come out … no big deal. Two guys show up and I showed them where I needed them and got the boxes and the tape that they needed.
Tried calling and messaging, no response! Had to get a company out of Morgantown to do the job. Country roads came highly recommended, what a disappointment!
I'm sorry to hear your experience with us did not go as expected, Jeremy. Customer service is a priority for us, and we take feedback like yours very seriously. We hope you will give us another chance in the future to impress you.
They were very friendly and nice to work with. However, on the day of the move, they scratched a family antique. Also, they left a lot in our storage unit that we had to move ourselves. It took four SUVs fully loaded with the seats out and a pick up truck to move all the things that they left in our storage units. And they had arrived to our new home with a partially empty moving truck. We assumed they had taken all they could. But there was still furniture and boxes in the storage unit when they got there.
Experience was so so. From the phone call I was quoted a price. They said they would text me everything, except the price again. For 3 hrs of labor it was $642. Two guys loading my truck with me helping. Just labor. Showed up at 9:15, left at 12:15. They broke my bed by ripping off the footboard, no one from the company has reached out to me to rectify the situation. Still charged me full price even. They called “their boss” and nothing came of it. Definitely not as professional as they seem.
Good morning Matthew. Jake here with Country Roads Moving LLC. We appreciate you reaching out and giving feedback on your moving experience. Our team arrived in Salem at the correct time and date that we discussed.
Musta been a bad day, took forever, broke stuff, nice guys, but pretty sloppy. My parents are on your customer log, so dont try that game, figure it out. I personally did 15 trips carrying stuff and had to help with assembly to move it along, no consideration when the bill came. Then they couldn't figure out how to put the bedframes back together (1hr plus) for that. and they still are jerry rigged to this day. Dont believe me? Come out and see.
Hello Ross. I’m sorry to hear your experience wasn’t up to your expectations. I don’t show your name in our customer log. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss how our team can make things right.
We used Country Roads for a recent move and did not have a good experience. The movers were unmotivated to say the least. I reserved 3 movers and a truck and they charged us for about 5 hours. About half that time was spent actually moving items, the rest was spent talking and standing around.
Wanted to use them but couldn't get in touch either by email or phone. Sent multiple emails and called a couple times leaving voicemails. Never returned any call or email. Using Mover and the Shakers out of Morgantown instead who was prompt and professional in getting me booked.
Hey there Steven. Certainly not something we want to see. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Around the time you were reaching out was when our phone systems were giving us a hard time. We did end up connecting with you but you were already taken care of.
The movers were kind and courteous. However, they marked up my furniture with deep cuts. I would never use this company again, and I don’t recommend their services. The owner has promised to make minimal amends, His insurance should cover the trauma to my furniture.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Moved on June 1st in the morning. Honestly, can't say enough good things about these guys. First off, they arrived earlier than expected which was great, 8:40 instead of 9:30ish that I was told. Had 3 guys as agreed on, Travis, Gavin & Dustin. They were all personable, polite & professional. I live simple so just all the basic furniture including full size washer & dryer. No bed, as I was buying new later on. They padded any furniture in the truck, dresser, glass dining table. Moving out of 2BR, 2 story townhouse.
Country Roads Moving came HIGHLY recommended on the Morgantown Subreddit, and having just used them to unpack my 26 ft moving truck, I can absolutely see why. From the first email I sent asking for a date and quote, Jacob was incredibly responsive, friendly, and thorough with every aspect of my move here. In fact, dealing with his company was the LEAST stressful part of my cross-country move.
Molly, we are happy to read your feedback and appreciate your kind words.
I hired Country Roads Moving based on some strong Facebook referrals & it was an excellent decision. My move was a 2BR with not a lot of heavy furniture or appliances but lots of boxes and most importantly my 3 cats. I first was impressed with Jake who is either the owner or manager who at the start asked for photos of all items so he could ensure the estimate was accurate. I’ve used smaller movers before but none have ever taken that step.
I'm so glad things went so smoothly for you and your family. Thank you so much for taking the time to write out such a detailed version of your experience. We appreciate the kind words.
