Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage

Firefighters finest I chose to move with firefighters finest and pay a premium to move (they were around 40% more than a few other companies I researched) I chose them because they had a clean slate on BBB and good ratings on yelp. This could not be further from the truth in my experience. I have many nice possessions, so I went ahead and purchased replacement insurance for any possessions that might be damaged in the move. Sure enough some damaged occurred due to lance’s team not properly packing my bed frame.

When moving, we priced several movers, and though they were more expensive, we opted to go with this group given their community service role. Two days before our new home close, the lending agency got behind, and our close was bumped a week. We had to be out of our old home a few days before the new close. While Firemen’s Finest told us they had storage, they said they could not accommodate us and move our stuff to storage for a few days until our new close date.

Same deal as many other moving companies out there. They gave me a quote and said that would be the price no matter what (even did a video walk through for the quote). Of course, moving day comes around and they say they don’t have enough trucks or packing materials and will need to charge me an additional $$$$’s! I asked about the quote grantee and they just blamed the salesman for a misquote.

We used FFMS twice and both times they damage our property. They have the attitude that if you didn't purchase their insurance then buy law they only have to cover 60 cents a pound for any and all damage created by them. They dented my $10,000 baby grand piano and gave me a wopping $360 to cover the damage. Why would anyone use their services when they are supposed to be the professionals at moving. They are NOT!!!

My daughter's bed frame was damaged beyond repair. I specifically asked for it to be taken apart and loaded into a pod; they missed screws or tried loading it without taking it all apart and the wood panels are destroyed where screws stayed attached and panels broken off (purchased 2022, practicallyin new condition). My treadmill (bowflex, purchased 2023 also practically in new condition) and wooden TV cabinet ( a couple of years old, minor worn condition) were cosmetically damaged.

I really, really wanted to like Firefighter’s Finest! I was the one who recommended them to my mom and her husband (he was a firefighter himself 50 years ago) after reading the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience yesterday when they moved my mom from her house to our new house. I wasn’t there when they loaded the truck but my adult niece was and she said they were working at a snails pace (paid by the hour) and was shocked at how they moved my moms very expensive sleep number base.

If you want movers that can't make your deadlines, incorrectly handle your belongings, and damage your property, this moving company is the way to go. I did my final walkthrough on the day of closing and the seller's of the home specifically instructed the movers to finish moving out by noon. Low and behold, I arrived at 12:15pm to find the movers still moving things out of the home. What's even more irritating is that I discovered that they had scuffed, scratched and even splintered my hardwood floors!

Eli Jones' review of 10 months ago now has me changing my review. I used them in the last month and I can say that first off they need to remove the word "Finest" from their name as this does not represent what my husband and I experienced. I know that we had several changes to our move date to our house being built but in the end we had to put our stuff in storage so we had to have a prep day which was a bit of a whirlwind but we had 5 guys and they seemed to be doing a good job but stressed to them to be careful…
