Hiring GrassRoots was a terrible decision. UPDATE: After the review was posted, GrassRoots did reach out to me. They agreed that the move took too long and were going to adjust my cost. I say "were" because they mailed me a check and then CHANGED THEIR MIND, issuing a stop payment on the check before I even received it (I have the unopened envelope). The damage to my furniture is real and I have pictures, despite GrassRoots' denials.
Rob: your review contains false information and is misleading, highly exaggerated and misrepresentative of your move and our service. We did not "break" any item, the only thing broken was one plastic castor, out of four, from one item; very minor and petty!
I was a returning customer using them for 2nd time and the turn around was huge. They canceled on my appointment last minute, after being late 5 hours of the initial appointment time. This is after I had explained I need to turn in the keys to the apartment the next day! It was very unprofessional and won't be returning again. It was complete 360 of service from the first time we used them.
Saurav: PLEASE NOTE: WE DID NOT PROVIDE SERVICE HERE! But, we do apologize wholeheartedly for not being able to fulfill our commitment that afternoon/evening. In 16 years of business, and thousands of jobs later, you can count on one hand the number of times that we couldn't make it.
I hired Grassroots to move my belongings from my old home into a storage locker 2 blocks away. They were available on very short notice when 2 Men & a Truck failed me. It was a great relief. They arrived on time and the movers were really nice guys. However, that was when I found out their liability policy excludes BOTH appliances & electronics (plan to move anything with a screen yourself).

Do NOT use this company. I used this company over a year ago and had a good experience, so I recommended them to a friend. Wow I feel terrible. They've gone totally downhill in a year. She had a nightmare experience. The movers were hideously slow. Just a few boxes at a time. Took there time between each trip. They didn't lower the ramp on the truck and use a dolly. A job that should have taken 4 hours took 6.
this is a conflict of interest: this reviewer, Pam J, is NOT the customer that we moved yesterday. Pam was not even present during this move. in fact, Pam is a past customer of GrassRoots Moving LLC, and Pam was very pleased with our service, even going as far as to give us a 5-star review.
I used this place based on reviews feom Nextdoor. It took almost 5 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment, and my stuff was all packed (Other times I've moved it took about 3 hours.). They took apart my bed to fit into the truck which is fine, but "lost" my screws to put it back together (they were at my old apartment I discovered the later on that day). Had some screws in their truck, but not enough screws to have my bed like it was prior. Brought up gratuity a few times.

Worst decision ever!!! I am finally after several months of being moved in able to do this review. Using GrassRoots movers was a last minute decision that I have regretted every since my move with this company! 4 guys move took nearly 5-6 hours?? Broken personal items. Things were thrown anywhere and some of my things I wasn't even made aware of being broken until unpacking?? And the tip of the iceberg the cost..$800???!!!! The MOST horrible and MOST expensive move that I've ever endured!!
"Ro Roj"? First of all, we don't know who you are...and moreover, "several months" ago?...What month (and within what year) did we supposedly move you? GrassRoots MOVING LLC adamantly insists that this customer and this review is fake. We respectively ask that you prove us wrong.

My husband set up our 26' truck unloading with Jeff (who was super friendly and professional) and the guys showed up on time and were fun and pleasant to work with all morning. Joey, Isaiah, and Demetrius were our workers and they were amazing... even when it came time to move the dreaded Purple mattress (love it, but weighs a metric ton) up some stairs. They were respectful and hard working from start to finish, and we just loved working with them! They were careful, quick, strong, and kind.

Izaiah, Terrell, and Justin moved us and were so great. Wrapped everything, nothing damanged, and had great communication. Got me completely moved in only 2.5 hours as well. Really great price and were nearly instant texters. Definitely recommend.

Use this company – excellent movers!!! We scheduled our move through GrassRoots Moving about a month prior to our move date, which was back on 8/1. The scheduling process was easy, and the owner was quick to respond to my inquiry. He laid out the cost and estimated what our move would be. Our move did end up being more expensive then quoted, but that was not because of an inaccurate quote.

These guys were top-notch. Geoff, the owner, met with me weeks before our planned move. The professionalism he showed and concern for his customer made me confident moving forward. He went through the move in detail, and gave a reasonable quote. When things changed with our move, Geoff was super flexible, and again, wanted to make sure that our move went off without a hitch.
