Awful experience. I am glad that we eventually received our things, but I deeply regret hiring International Van Lines. We paid for a professional full-service move. The MAIN reason I hired IVL was because I specifically asked if they were a broker. I was told 100% that they were not, that they would not sell our move, and that they would be the company handling it. Instead, Best Rate Relocation from Maryland showed up at our house in a Budget truck.
Most awful moving company for cross-country move that I've ever used. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE IN SIGNING WITH THEM!! Their sales people lie, their contract is full of hidden fees, they are always understaffed, provide awful customer service, and are extremely rude when disputing what was said versus what is actually happening. I was told my things would stay on a single truck the entire way - NO.
WORST MOVING COMPANY!!! Dont believe the 5 star reviews, I did and that was my biggest mistake!!!! RUN!!! and save your money and what ever you are trying to ship will end up being damaged. Used international van lines- but they are just the middle man/broker. Our stuff was really moved by Wayflower van lines . We were not given the opportunity to select the insurance before we initiated the shipment.
When I signed with IVL for my move from Tennessee to Colorado I was told my shipment would deliver within 3 to 7 days. Today was 7days and my shipment is still sitting in a warehouse I was told my shipment wouldn’t move from the warehouse until this weekend. That’s 10 or 11 days. That means it could be another 5,6 or more days before delivery. I have talked with Kevin Garrett and he promised to get back with me yesterday. I have emailed Luis in dispatch and no response from either.
Please read this and DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I had a truly disappointing experience from start to finish. While this company charges higher prices than competitors, which I was willing to accept for better service, the overall experience did not justify the premium. There were multiple unexpected and poorly explained fees added along the way, which significantly increased the final cost. Below are a few examples: - Transparency was lacking throughout the process.
Very disappointing experience!! NEW UPDATE 12/8/25 -Just discovered multiple BROKEN Holiday decorations including snow globes. They were wrapped in bubble wrap and towels. 😡 The initial estimate and price was good. All downhill after that. It took 2 weeks for them to get our stuff (1 bedroom) from Utah to Arizona. I understand they can't guarantee exact delivery date blah blah blah. From the initial planned delivery date, it took 5-6 days to hear anything regarding status of our stuff.
Please please please, don't go with IVL. The worst moving services that you can pay for. I don't even know how they make it to the Forbes list. Has the experience at pickup - Less that needed people showed up for packaging and the whole process took until 12 in the night. Majority of the packers were high when they showed up. After the pick up, there was no information about our stuff and we constantly had to call them everyday to get an update.
Moving cross country in US and I cannot get ahold of them for more than a week to set a delivery date and they have my stuff in storage. Horrible communication via Email and they haven’t called me back either. Willing to change this review if there is improved communication.
