Local Muscle Movers

Minor oversight at the end of the move. Owner and all of his staff ghosted me after requesting they spend a few minutes correcting the problem. No return emails. No return phone calls. Good as long as everything goes perfectly. Otherwise? Defensive, hostile and unresponsive.

I booked these movers a month in advance, paid $50 extra for the priority first slot of the day, and thought all was good. I got a call Monday afternoon when my move was scheduled for Saturday morning, only 5 days later, that they suddenly didn't have a crew for my move. Thank goodness I was able to call around and get another moving company on such short notice, but otherwise I would have been absolutely screwed! I'm currently pregnant, with a broken ankle, and working 50 hours a week.

Poor customer service. Movers didn't move all items. Charged $500 more than quoted. Then blamed us for having more than what was quoted. Both workers agreed before beginning that the quote looked correct. Don't do it.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE MOVERS!!! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! In response to Local Muscle Movers Comment on my above review... I like to point out that I did not explain what was wrong I just pointed out that it was a horrible experience. But somehow you highlighted and provided an excuse or a reason for why every bad and unprofessional thing that happened that day was acceptable. I highly suggest everyone read the one star reviews as they had the same experience as I did.

I rarely write Google reviews, but I've been so frustrated with my experience at what was supposed to be a highly-rated company. Unfortunately the move happened on a hot day, and while I understand that they want to keep workers safe, when people are paying hundreds of dollars for a service, you'd hope they'd plan ahead and think about the weather. So because of the heat, they called and asked for it to be a 3-person crew instead of 2, pressuring me into paying a higher rate than the signed agreement.

Awful experience with this company. I received an estimate from Kwawe. I accepted the estimate and set up a moving date. I paid a $250.00 dollar deposit for the agreed upon contract price. 3 hours later, Kwame called back and told me the price had changed…they needed 3 movers instead of the 2 movers originally quoted(for extra expense, of course). I told Kwawe this was unacceptable as we already had a contract and money had been paid. Kwame hung up rudely on my.

I do not recommend this company for people who are going to be using shipping containers such as relocubes or pods. We specifically requested our items to be plastic wrapped and they weren't. Our items were damaged in transit. We also asked for our artwork to be packed carefully but they were bubble wrapped and left loose in the container with unsecured items ready to fall on them. We reached out to the company regarding these issues and they said the owner would call us within 7 days.

Local muscle did their moving job well and did not break anything. However, when backing out of my driveway they put 8 massive divots in my neighbors yard. Neighbor was obviously frustrated and asked us to fix. I reached out to Local Muscle asking if they’d be willing to reimburse me for the supplies I bought to fix their mistake. The response was “we are not liable so we cannot aid. You said we could do it”.
