**Over 25k worth of damaged furniture…AVOID*** Our furniture was supposed to be in ‘climate controlled’ storage (as advertised) but they loaded it onto their leaky truck/trailer on Friday, August 13th left it outside in over 90 degree summer heat, humidity, and rain all weekend. On Monday, 8/16, our items arrived water damaged and wrapped in wet blankets. Over 25k worth of damage to our fine furniture including my parents teak furniture that they have had for over 40 years.

We move from Ft Myers to Pennsylvania about 3 weeks ago. Pre- move communication was excellent as well as the men who packed up the furniture and placed it in the moving van. We were told since our furniture was the first on it would not be moved around which sounded good. The PROBLEM was in the delivery. We were not at the house, but our 48 year old son was at the house at work on his computers for the time they were there so he could not watch.

I used this company for an interstate move, and they give me quote and signed it with me for $3400 and when they arrive with my stuff they required more than $5000, even if the previous I call their office 5 times for ask if there is any change regarding the payment and the delivery, and I had 5 different people and they gave me 5 times the same answer, “absolutely no change “,when I ask them explanation they told me they made additional charges because the quote was for 3000 lbs, and my moving had 5000 lbs…

HORRIBLE!!!!!! DO NOT USE!! Used them for an interstate move at the end of September and paid for full coverage. Packers were ok, with the exception of one guy who tore floral arrangements apart and stuck in boxes. They were destroyed. Delivery was a nightmare! Physically tore a table apart - never new that could happen, broke a chair, broken pictures and accessories, tore up wooden steps dragging things down them. Worst was they dropped my husbands Harley off the ramp of the semi!!!

We were miss led on delivery time from when our furniture would arrive at our destination. The ten day delivery expectation was expanded to well over 10 days. The contract added 4 days to our actual day of loading. Unfortunately I did not see that but feel it was very deceptive of the company to sell the ten day expected delivery and increase that date on the contract. Shame on me for being trusting.

My friends furniture was was damaged, to find out that there was a 500.00 dollar deductible. Customer was without a table that was damaged by recorded negligence of movers . For 7 months finally obtained a restorer to repair. Having said all this I called for the elder couple and they,movers would not contribute towards repairs. Sad 😥......

I’ve just had Modern Movers deliver my furniture. So far I’ve had a broken entertainment unit, broken bed, broken glassware (I’ve only unpacked 2 boxes so far). My floors are scratched, my door frames have been damaged. They didn’t protect floors or door surrounds. I will add to review as I continue to unpack.

Make sure you read the fine print, they cannot be trusted. Asked to take care of our estate move and found out afterwards that expensive items were damaged and that we did not have enough insurance. One penny on the dollar is hardly enough coverage. Took advantage as we were grieving the loss of our mother.
