Had a very bad experience with this company. Driver AJ made my wife feel very uncomfortable. When my wife asked him to please not smoke beside the garage where our 3 year old would be walking he said whats the problem. He also tried to tell my wife that she needed to pay extra to have kids toys loaded on the truck. I would definitely look around for someone else. Paid 60cents a pound and definitely was very disappointed with service.
I got a verbal quote. Once they had my stuff on the truck, the price doubled. When I called the salesman, his response was "why would I quote you so low?" Get your price in writing.
Good Evening John, I apologize on behalf of the salesman and will be having a talk with him. When did we move you? I would like to take a look at the paperwork and be able to talk to you further about this, this is not how we conduct ourselves here. Update: Was your move under a different name?
Threw all my boxes because when I opened them everything was broken !!! They even admitted it to me that a " few " glass items were broken by them.
I would not recommend or use these movers again. .the move itself was smooth until it came time to pay. They charged me an extra 1/2hour and then said it was for travelling time from their store to my house. .and this was even before they started loading any furniture. i can see paying for travelling time from one place to another after the truck has been loaded with furniture. .but not the other.. They never stated to me that the time started from the moment they left their store. .When i inquired about it..
Hi Mr. Dinardo - We have tried to call you back about that this morning. It does state on our estimate paperwork when Tom came out that our hourly rate does include travelling time. We are sorry you had a bad experience with our customer service and the move.
These class acts blocked my car in a parking lot today with their moving truck while moving someone else into the building. I get that it can be awkward moving but when I was leaving I asked one of the movers if it was their truck downstairs since I was blocked in and he was rude for no reason, didn’t even look up to acknowledge me and seemed annoyed that I even mentioned they had me blocked in. His colleague made the comment of “yeah be sure to yell at the driver” on my way down the elevator.
Hi Kelly, I would like to apologize on the men’s behalf, I feel terrible that you got such an attitude from them. Would you please be able to tell me what building it was - I would like to be able to talk to the men directly about their treatment. Again I apologize on their behalf.
I would not recommend. We hired them back in July 2025 for a 2 house move to a blended family home. They lost a large piece of our luggage with clothes packed inside. We put a claim through on their insurance (That we paid extra for) that took us 3 months to complete because Sarah refuses to call people back. After the claim was submitted and we provided proof of the luggage and items within, they refused to answer the questions from their own insurance providers or submit the details required. Ridiculous.
Shitty they treat there employes like garbage and the men hit on some customers on the job ive seen it first hand dont call them

Sarah took my call and was friendly and gave me an appointment with AJay. I called three companies and two called me back. My Dad is moving in with us and selling condo. AJ came by and quoted us a fair price was honest and straight forwars we setup the date with a deposit. We had seen the Mountaineer trucks many times. Chris A., Shawn W, and Greg M did an amazing job. On time, professional and polite. Communicated effectively as we had multiple locations to move. They took pride in protecting my families memories.
Thank you Michael! and thank you for your call this morning about the move. We strive everyday to make sure every single move goes smoothly for the customer. We will definitely pass this along to everyone involved.
I'm going to edit this review to say that, while the below did happen as outlined, the owner responded very quickly. My parents items did arrive undamaged (yay!), they did get a fee reduction because of all that had happened (thank you), and a second crew was sent over (free of charge) to the retirement community to expedite the unloading of the truck before elevator privileges timed out. So, there was still a lot of stress involved, but the end experience was a net positive.

Mountaineer Movers moved us out of our house into a new home. The crew of three worked very hard to empty our home, which we lived in for several years. They filled the truck in four hours and emptied it in four hours, which was exactly what we were quoted. I have never seen people work harder or more efficiently and everything was moved carefully and without damage. The crew was also very professional and respectful. It was difficult to choose someone for our move as we had never used a moving company before.
Moving out of a home after 16 years was one of the most emotional and overwhelming experiences I’ve gone through, and I genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about Mountaineer Movers and the incredible team who helped me through it. A very special thank you to Chris Atkinson, Vernon Arnold, and Micheal Guimond. From the moment they arrived, they brought a calm, professional energy that immediately eased my anxiety.
