In their own words
This was our first professional moving experience, and I'm not sure that we'll every hire movers again. We received a quote and the movers showed up on time, but when they arrived the cost of our out of state move jumped from $5,500 to $11,590. They said we either accept the price, they can only load $5,500 worth of our stuff and leave the rest, or they can leave and void the contract. We were supposed to be in our new city in 5 days at this point so we took the price hike.
We booked the move from California to Nevada in June of 2021. We were assured that the company would take extra care of our items as if they were their own. Our items arrived damaged and we were missing over $3000 worth of clothing, kitchen items and other household goods. This company takes an extremely long time to respond to claims and they give you the run around.
Horrific experience with Rapid Van Lines via SafeShip. Terrible communication, unprofessional, they don’t care about your items and will hold your items hostage until they have their money in hand. Don’t believe that they will reassemble your items either. I had to do that myself. Recently moved from TX to MS. Pickup window was scheduled through SafeShip (which I will never use again either) from 9am to 11am. 24 hours prior, Rapid Van Lines changed that pickup to 6am.
Don't ever think to use this company , I used this company last year to ship my stuff from state to state and I lost about 8 boxes and most of the glasses was broken, I have a business and I lost most of my business tools, I opened claim and they never ever reply to me or answer my phone , very bad customer service, Terrible. Very rude on the phone, WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Please be very careful using this company.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our move from the Bay Area to Atlanta with Rapid Van Lines in July 2021 was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, resulting in significant financial loss and emotional distress. It's taken me three years just to shed all that and be able to write this review. If I can save just one person from having to go through they pain that we did, it was well worth my time to write this. The movers were unprofessional and showed up late on both ends of the move.
They Lost Better Business Bureau Accreditation. This an untrustworthy and manipulative company. There was always an answer - always an excuse and at the end . . . extortion. Dramatic? See pictures. Our move was in July 2021 from LA to Western NC It took nearly 6 weeks to receive our items. Then, we had to wire transfer additional thousands of dollars if ... "you want your stuff." When it was delivered - they used day laborers who showed up at the house asking us where the rental van was.
Had a horrible experience with Rapid Van Lines. Our household did get picked up and delivered, but had major issues with the delivery. Shipped from CA to NY in a freight truck without lift or ramp. All pieces of furniture suffered damage and the top to our dining room table was lost. After a year, table top is still missing; status on damage claim of $2,000 is in limbo.
We moved from California to Tennessee last year. They told us one price for all our stuff they wanted more money.we had to leave half our things in California and the things they delivered was broken or smashed. Our new washer was gone probably stolen and my 40inch tv was broken and my son's 60 inchtv was gone.when they finally made it to Tennessee we had to unload the truck our selfs hard to do since I am disabled. These people are crooks and very dishonest.
