Horrible horrible company. We just moved into our new apartment from Florida. We arrived July 10th. The movers did not arrive until July 28th. Upon their scheduled arrival there was no call ahead of time to alert us they were close by. We were given an arrival time of 8-9am. They arrived at 10am. We were adamant from the beginning that our bed frame be reassembled.
After moving two years ago, I had Yolo store my things while I was living in a one bedroom. Once I moved to my own place, I went to their warehouse to pick the things that I wanted there and what was to stay in the warehouse. I was horrified to see that they had stored furniture on top of boxes and stuffed it in their crates without a thought that they might damage anything. This was after I had tipped each guy $60 when they moved me to their storage!
While Yolo Transfer's front office staff were professional, communicative, and genuinely tried to help with our difficult cross-country move from Iowa to California, the overall experience was significantly marred by issues with their subcontractor. Bekins Van Lines contracted our move to Stevens Moving & Storage, and our driver was JJ.
Yolo Transfer moved me and my husband in February 2025. FIVE ITEMS VALUING APPROXIMATELY $2500 WERE NOT DELIVERED TO OUR NEW ADDRESS. One shipping container that was sealed had clearly been tampered with and opened. The contact employee at Yolo Transfer was unconcerned and said "Things usually show up after a few days." I filed a police report but was told this isn't theft, but a breach of contract - Yolo Transfer did not do the job they were hired to do - pick up and deliver my household goods.

Yolo Transfer moved my 90 year old Grandma 10 months ago and she’s still paying the consequences of the move. They damaged 5 furniture. The damage included: breaking the motor of her bed that couldn’t be replaced, shattering of her frost glass shelf, and deep scratches on three dresser. My grandma reported the damaged, it was verified by the company’s assessor. The company failed to fix any of the damages, did not pay her back, and neglected her calls.
