I am writing to share my experience with Ashe Van Lines Moving & Storage, hoping it will help you avoid similar issues. My move, scheduled and paid deposit for well in advance, was marred by significant delays and unexpected charges. Despite requesting price matching, which was initially offered, my attempts to provide competing quotes were met with no response. The moving team arrived nearly an hour late without prior notification.
It has been 7 months trying to get resolution to a bad moving day experience. First, no one came out to quote the job. Over the phone, got quote. They missed the quote by $1300!! Quoted less than $2k, nearly $3,100 on moving day. Surprise #1 on the day. Then the crew leader tried to get more help and some one in authority showed up at my home, had a cussing match with the employee and then drove off with the guy. Surprise #2. So man down, truck undersized, and then random guys show up to finish the job.

Scheduled my move with Margie and she was person that gave me quote. Called her later to confirm moving date and she said moving crew would be there on moving day at 7am. Friday before moving day, I was called and asked if it would be ok to wait another day. I said no, plans had been made. I was told they would call me back. Was called back and said crew would be there at 7:30 am. Crew arrived on scheduled moving day at 9:15 am. Looked at rooms and started to load truck.

Fantastic service from Ashe Van Lines. When my furniture store wouldn’t deliver outside their radius, Ashe stepped in and handled everything flawlessly. Their team showed up on time, communicated clearly, and treated my furniture like it was their own. Stairs, tight corners, and even removing and replacing doors were no problem at all. They worked efficiently, protected the walls and floors, and made sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it.
I’m writing this review in two parts, as our move itself is a two stage process and not yet fully complete. I recently relocated to Hickory, NC from two states away. With a short closing period on the sale of our home, I had very little time to find and contract with an interstate moving company. Thankfully, our Realtor connected us with Ashe Van Lines Moving & Storage — and they truly stepped up. Our phone and email communication was smooth, and we had a signed agreement within two days.
I called Ashe Van Lines with what I thought was an impossible ask. I needed to move very sentimental items across state lines about 2 hours away, I needed it to be done at a reasonable cost, and I needed it done the very next day. Chanel from Ashe Van Lines was able to accomplish my request with ease. I couldn't have asked for a better company to move my dads belongings with care. Thank you guys so much for your help. The stress I was feeling with my circumstance was entirely diminished thanks to you.
Recently hired Ashe Van Lines for an office move. I could not be happier with the experience. They were punctual, very professional and clearly very experienced at what they do. They went above and beyond to ensure all our items were undamaged (we had some particularly heavy items that they were able to easily handle as well). Overall it was 10/10 and I'll definitely be hiring them again in the future for any moves I do
