Black Ties’ business model is that you receive “rock star” treatment when you use them. We were ignored, items broken, walls damaged, inaccurate estimate of charges and no response from the owner after requesting a phone call. The one star reviews for this company describe our experience perfectly- the 5 star reviews sound like a whole a different business. It’s not unreasonable to expect their salesperson to be fairly accurate on estimating how long a move will take- since this is what he does for a living.

Zero stars. I was a repeat client — my first move with this company was excellent, which is why I booked them again. This time, moving the same amount of belongings (just from a 1st floor to a 3rd floor, across town), everything fell apart. I paid for 3 movers plus a full kitchen pack. The crew arrived without packing supplies and said they didn't know packing was part of the job. They also didn't know the destination had stairs. From there, it derailed.

BEWARE!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I had a move with Black Tie from Nashville to Columbus OH at the end of last year. I reported damage to several items due to poor packing previously and got no resolution aside from an 87.00 check. My move cost over 10k and was an absolute nightmare. They didn’t have adequate employees to manage the move and only had two men come in to pack up and load an entire house.

I was totally tricked by my sales person at Black Tie. I was quoted $4k-6k. They charged us $12K. The movers were nice guys but broke 4 of my good wine glasses and Lord knows what else. I’m still unpacking. They packed heavy things on top of glasses. Threw a bunch of crap in a box. I have found a bag of trash that they packed and a used styrofoam cup. I was quoted $128 for packing materials and it cost $2k ! That is NOT exaggerated. Told me EVERYTHING was out of laundry room, attic and bedrooms.

We had an outstanding experience with Black Tie Moving for our move this weekend! From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and care. A huge thank you to Angelo and Clifford, who were absolutely exceptional. They were incredibly careful with every piece of furniture and every box, treating our belongings as if they were their own. They worked efficiently without ever rushing, stayed positive throughout the entire day, and were genuinely some of the nicest people we've worked with.

We had such a great experience with Black Tie Moving! Chad, Jhostyn, and Brian packed our entire house one day and moved us the next, and they made a stressful couple of days so much easier. They were hardworking, careful, patient, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. They took great care of our belongings and were always willing to answer questions or help with anything we needed. They were also just genuinely nice guys to have around.

We had an amazing and seamless move earlier this month. Shoutout to Ben who made the booking process easy. Our moving day crew consisted of Chad, Shane, Decoda and Broderick who were all fantastic. They hustled the entire day, never complained and had a smile on their face - even when the plans changed a time or two. Would definitely recommend - you should ask for this crew! None of our furniture was damaged and they make sure everything is where you would like it to be.

I had THE LITERAL BEST EXPERIENCE with Black Tie Moving today! They came and in 4 hours they had my house all packed and ready to go for the big move tomorrow! Greg, Anthony and Cortlan were absolutely amazing! They were friendly, patient, chill and extremely helpful! I look forward to seeing them tomorrow!!!! I WILL ABSOLUTELY USE BLACK TIE MOVING AGAIN!
