In their own words
Highly unprofessional with my last miltary move in my new house I just brought back on May 11 2022. They damaged the sheet rock, stairs, railing and door ways when they brought items inside. I've been emailing Nick and have yet to hear back from him when this happened 2 days ago. Whoever were their packers had mislabeled the boxes and added random items that shouldn't been in there such as open containers of cooking oils, flower pot with dirt in kitchen and clothes, soap dispenser with soap still inside of it…
I hired Blake & Sons Moving and Storage on the recommendation of a friend. Overall, they did a good job, BUT, they refused to accept responsibility for the damage they did to some pieces of very expensive furniture. To be fair, they did offer insurance for me to purchase, but I thought that it was catastrophic insurance, not insurance to cover routine damage that occurs in most moves. Never in the past have I had to purchase insurance to cover what clearly should be the moving company's risk.
We are pleased to hear that overall, our crew did a good job with your recent move. We are sorry that you are unhappy with the outcome of the claim that you filed subsequent to your move, and for any slow communication / responses. I do … More
Although the actual movers did a good job, we did not appreciate either "moving scam" or the unwillingness to pay for damaged furniture. After the manager gave us an estimate after eyeballing every stick of our furniture, they came to us after the move with a price of almost $600 over that estimate, then refuse to fix out DR hutch that their movers admitting breaking. Now will not return our calls. Not the type of company I want to deal with ever again!

These guys are the most unprofessional people I have met - under quoting hours need to do the job, damaging items and not completing the job. And at one point threatening to take my furniture back to their depot unless a check was received (and this was half way through the job) - crooks!
Hi Rod, We're a bit behind on getting registered so we can answer. We take this very seriously and we'd appreciate an opportunity to make this right with you. We can't seem to find a record of your service on file.
Currently they’re moving truck is driving down 495 with a lot of snow/ice on their truck and it’s falling off the truck and hitting other peoples cars and windshields
Mick - We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We did have staff cleaning … More

In their own words
We recently hired Blake & Sons Moving and Storage for our move from Rockville, Maryland to Alexandria, Virginia, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The entire team demonstrated a level of professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail that sets them apart in the moving industry. They arrived on time, worked with precision, and handled our belongings with the utmost care.
Blake & Sons are hands down the best movers! They have moved us four times and are CONSISTENTLY prompt, efficient and hard working. Our family has never been disappointed and we will ALWAYS recommend them. Juan Carlos, Wilmer and Eduardo were on top of it today. Thank you again!!
Thanks Torre! It is always our pleasure to work with you and your family. … More
After receiving a few moving quotes, I went with Blake and Sons based on a recommendation. Crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The crew foreman and I discussed the plan for the day and went over a few details and the crew got to work right away. The guys worked hard and maneuvered around my family as we continued to pack up the remaining items. When the truck was loaded, the crew departed for the move-in house and took a well deserved lunch break on the way.
Picking movers is kind of like buying a used car when your car is on the side of the road smoking: you know you’re doing to get screwed. Bad analogy, but picking movers always feels like you’re going to get played somehow; slow movers, crazy pricing/sneaky fees, etc. I never experienced that with Blake & Sons. I worked with Shannon and Carmen to set up my move. I had a two move team because I was already packed and ready to go. I have a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with A LOT of boxes (don’t judge).
Thank you Adrian! It was a true pleasure working with you. … More
