College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Missouri City

I scheduled an appointment to donate a couple of items from my house between 8 and 10 am. They cancelled my junk removal appointment out of nowhere around 9:30am and did not give me a reason for the cancellation. They also did not even attempt to reschedule, they literally cancelled my appointment and ghosted me. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will use a competitor (1-800-got-junk) instead.

I have used them twice now and both times their estimated time needed for the move and total cost were much lower than the actual time it took and the final cost. The first time the final cost was double of the estimate and the second time it was 1.5 times. Since their estimate is calculated after they have seen the items that need to be moved, I don’t understand how the final cost can be that drastically different unless they are lowballing the estimate to get the business.

This move was the most stressful move I've had to date. The movers did not come with the proper tools or knowledge to disassemble my bed, even though it's advertised that they do, and management did not take any accountability for this. Not only was time wasted dismantling the bed, but they also moved my bed with the sides still attached to the footboard, which caused multiple holes to expand/strip as the sides swayed back and forth. They could not fit everything, so I continued to move things after moving day.

I had an appointment for today between 10-12 for junk removal (confirmed via phone and email yesterday). After not hearing from anyone in the morning, I finally called at 11am to ask for an ETA. Then the person who was assigned the job reached out to inform me that they’re in the middle of a move and are unable to come during the scheduled window.

While I had a stellar conversation when booking our move, and an incident free estimate walk-through with the Manager and Crew Captain for our local move, I am mystified at what happened on the day of our move. The crew arrived and was backing up the truck. My husband directed them to move the truck over so as not to block in two vehicles. He then changed his mind and told them we thought we could pivot back and forth to get the cars out.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. Cancelled appointment without notifying me because couldn’t get ahold of me. The mover texted me an hour and half earlier than my appointment stating he was on the way. I called him and told him would need to wait until the APPOINTMENT TIME. he said no problem he would be waiting. Then no one showed.Called-no one answered. Texted-no one answered (all prior to the appointment time). Obviously I can prove I talked with mover 1.5 hour prior to appointment.

Absolutely awful! I was quoted $349 per full truck no matter how long it took they only charge by volume. When the guys got to my house they measured everything I wanted hauled off and said it will cost $549! I agree to that. I gave them specific things I wanted gone so I went inside my house. They then just threw stuff randomly into the truck NOT THE STUFF I TOLD THEM to take first. The way the lumber was thrown into the truck they only got 5% of what they measured to take!

The way pricing is determined for the moving job is not good. It went from 145 to 179, to 189. I received three different price quotes for the job. When the workers showed up, I went to the front door and immediately I became concerned. There were two young men standing at my front door dressed as if they were going to the park to play a game of pickup basketball. They did not have a uniform on, a tee shirt or anything that would identify them. In this day and time with so much crime this should never happen.
