I DO NOT recommend this company. Broken glass in a cabinet which so far has not been replaced and repaired 8 WEEKS later. I am unable to complete unpacking. Several boxes and a garage cabinet infested with ants while in storage which resulted in hiring a pest control expert. David McCarthy has shown no interest whatsoever in rectifying and resolving the situation and has treated me with total disrespect. To add to this review …..
Upon the recommendation of the company where we purchased moving boxes, we hired David McCarthy to move a small amount of furniture and personal belongings from Bradenton, FL to Inver Grove Hts, MN in December of 2018. McCarthy told us he frequently made trips to Michigan so he would include our small load on a truck headed to Michigan. At that time we were also advised that we would probably not get our things until April due to the winter weather. Not a problem at that time.
I apologize we were unable to secure another timely delivery to your area. I must admit that I do not recall an implied urgency of delivery on your part at the time of intake and am happy we had your faith and the space to store your items in air conditioned storage for a one time deposit of…
I misread his quote with my ADD. That's on me. Still, the charge for packing was beyond outrageous. Far off from other quotes. I should have paid closer attention. The day of, my packer was bellowing and raging at me in the first 10 minutes - all because I was surprised I suddenly had no internet and was thinking out loud about the modem. Was I wrong? No matter. When is the right time to rant and scream at the old lady customer? I let the boss know later.
My husband was in the furniture business for over thirty years as a dealer for Knoll, Herman Miller, All Steel and more. Our home is also furnished with these manufacturers along with several pieces of fine art. So, when we moved to Central Florida, we hired David McCarthy Movers. They were licensed, insured and capable of handling "high end valuables". Throughout this move, they were extremely professional and took great care building a crate for our 80 x 74 oil painting.

My move started off well but some of the movers were in a rush to unload and were rough handling some of the boxes and even knocked over a few. I have some damage to a table and have been unable to get the owner to respond about resolving it.

From start to finish, the team was professional, organized, efficient, and incredibly careful with our belongings. Moving can be stressful, especially for a long-distance relocation, but they made the entire process feel seamless. The crew arrived on time, communicated clearly throughout the move, and treated our furniture and boxes as if they were their own.

I recently worked with Dave McCarthy for a cross-country move, and this was by far the best experience I've had with a moving company. Dave was responsive and provided all the information I needed while I was planning.
Personal, very experienced and professional - Dave impressed me even before I met him by taking the time to drive out to my new house to understand the layout and stairs. He then drove 3 hours to meet me and follow me around the home I was leaving after 20 years while I pointed out what goes and what does not. He is smart and very well organized. His was not the lowest bid, but it was very fair and there were no surprises on the back end.
