I had a very bad experience with Doug's Hourly Muscle. I set up my move a month in advance. In an email I was quoted $180. per hour for the first hour and $45. per half hour after that. I was told that included 2 movers, which was perfect for us, as we had several other helpers. THE DAY BEFORE MY MOVE, Jackie left me a voice mail and told me I might get one of the trucks that had 3 movers, and the hourly fee would be slightly higher, but she stated it would still come out to the same cost since there was extra…
These movers steal !!! DO NOT Hire this moving company unless you want your things stolen right from under your nose or delivered to another residence without your knowledge. That’s what they do they deliver your stuff to another residence and then take what they want and bring you the rest back they say they had another shipment in the truck and it got delivered to the wrong place it’s a scam. My husband ( 100% Disabled MARINE) passed away and he bought me a 9 mm Ruger handgun to protect myself....
Really can't believe I'm having to write a bad review. I've used Doug's several times and have always been very happy with them. However, this last time, not so much. First, they brought a trailer which I told them would not be big enough when arriving. I had gotten a phone estimate explaining the walk they would have at the outgoing location, and the stairs at the new location. Got several quotes and they were all about the same.
I’m sorry that you had any issues with our work. As always if there is a issue the business would be more then happy to take care of it. Any scratches of damage to any furniture can be taken care of. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Not quite sure how my previous review was removed considering I paid for their services in the past. Something seems off with these reviews. I’ll keep this version shorter than the last, let’s hope they don’t have this one removed! I used these guys for the first time. They scratched my new 75” television, so the owner comes out to say he didn’t see anything, he was very confrontational in my home with me.
On July 15th we employed Doug’s Hourly Muscles had two of his employees move our home’s possessions in St. Petersburg, FL. The price was comparable to most movers; and this was our first time using a professional moving company. There are several differences however, that do distinguish one company from another, and we, as consumers, were unaware of them. Doug’s Hourly Muscle Moving Company damaged a piece of our furniture, a Rattan chair that belonged to a matching piece in our living room set.
The movers/junkies that were sent to move my stuff we're completely incompetent and very very careless with things.. So i call "Jackie" thinking she would help in some way but no, i get told that she talked with them and nothing was broke!! Even though i watched it with my own eyes... DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! VERY CARELESS AND LOW END SERVICE!!
These guys are the most inconsiderate drivers - they travel below the speed limit in the left lane (which is illegal in Florida), switch lanes without signaling, cut people off, and throw lit cigarette butts out the window. If this is how they drive, I'd hate to see how they treat your belongings.
Called twice attempting to hire them for a move. Went to voicemail each time and never received a call back. I went with a different moving company that could be bothered to pick up the phone and return my calls.

In their own words
From getting a quote, to all communication leading up to the move, this was as easy and stress free as a move can be. Joe and his crew were on time and very professional, they moved quickly but carefully with everything, considering having to move it all from the 3rd floor without an elevator. All crew members were courteous and professional, even when talking with my 9 year old son about our move. After the move and looking through the garage we thought we were missing our firepit.

We are moving from a 1st floor fully furnished 3/2 @ 1240 sqft to an upstairs 2/2 @ just 850 sqft. Yesterday Joe, JJ, and David showed up early (7:55am) for our 8am appointment. They came in, Joe introduced himself to my significant other and gave her an estimate that was exactly what we had planned for financially and exactly the time that I was hoping for, but I didn't think was possible for all our stuff. When I was done getting dressed at 8am, I came out to find the three man team getting started.

Wow!!! Appointment for a partial move scheduled with Vern was confirmed two days before by Alex. Micael called enroute with ETA. Michael, Jacob and Jay arrived on time and went right to work. I showed them about 15 items and they handled all my heavy stuff with TLC. Up and down stairs and in 96degree heat. They speedily wrapped and loaded all Into a clean and organized truck. Everything arrived at my destination and was carefully placed exactly as I instructed.
These guys were awesome. Heard a lot of horror stories about how "moving companies can be" and we were feeling unsure about finding a company we could trust. Look no further, these guys are it. They were recommended by a friend and I am so happy we used them. They were reliable, showed up early and their pricing was very reasonable, both for a single story, two-story AND overnight storage. They charge hourly, but let me tell you, these guys don't milk it, they hustle!!
