The rating breakdown
Google shows 18 ratings for this business. Below twenty, a percentage swings too far on a single review to mean anything, so we don’t publish one. 3 of those are one or two star.

What the complaints say
Moving goes wrong in a small number of specific ways. These are the ones reviewers describe in the low-star reviews we have read for Family Affair Moving, counted by matching the words they used.

Counted across the 2 one and two star reviews we have read for Family Affair Moving. A review can describe more than one problem, so these do not add to 100%. Each share is rounded on its own.
In their own words
Booked Family Affair Moving about three weeks out for a July 1 move within Irvine. Booking was quick, and the crew was there from just after 8 in the morning until almost 8 at night and got the job done. The problem is the estimate and the bill. Everything was quoted by phone. Nobody came out, and there was no video walkthrough either. I specifically asked for a not-to-exceed price before putting down the deposit and was told they don't do those. The quote was under $1,520 for about 8 hours.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you were disappointed with the final cost of your move. We would like to clarify a few points for future customers. As you noted in your review, we did not provide a guaranteed estimate or a not-to-exceed price.

In their own words
I used them for a local North OC move earlier this month. Exceptional service from the reservation stage up to moving day. Great communication. Fair Price. Furniture and fragile items very well protected. Hats off to our hardworking and super nice crew, Ryan & Emerson. Thank you so much guys! I wholeheartedly recommend Family Affair Moving!
Hi Tom, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and recommendation! We’re thrilled to hear that your move went smoothly from the reservation process through moving day. Providing clear communication, fair pricing, and exceptional care for our customers’ belongings is always our goal.
We had an outstanding experience with Family Affair Moving! Ryan, Maurice, and Mario were absolutely fantastic. They arrived right on time, worked incredibly hard from start to finish, and made our move from one apartment to another smooth and stress-free. They were friendly, courteous, professional, and treated our belongings with great care. They were also patient, respectful, and always willing to help with anything we needed. It’s hard to ask for more from a moving company.
Hi Iman, Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing Family Affair Moving! We’re thrilled to hear that Ryan, Maurice, and Mario provided such a positive moving experience.
The best moving experience! I was 38 weeks pregnant, we had a toddler, and the team made what could have been a stressful day feel effortless. They carefully packed everything, broke down our furniture, reassembled it at the new house, and handled every item with incredible care. They even made sure our toddler’s room was fully set up before they left so he could comfortably transition and sleep in his new space that night.
Thank you so much, Teagan, for your thoughtful and detailed review! It truly means the world to our Family Affair Moving team. Knowing we could help make your move less stressful—especially while you were 38 weeks pregnant and caring for a toddler—is exactly why we do what we do.
I had an incredible experience with my moving crew. Ryan, Mario, and Emerson were absolutely the best. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and handled everything with real care. They even finished the entire move two hours faster than I expected. Ryan even found my wife’s lost AirPods inside a recliner during the move. :) They were extremely mindful at our new apartment and managed to unload everything without waking my four month old who was sleeping in the next room. God-mode.
Hi Matthew, Thank you so much for the amazing review! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Ryan, Mario, and Emerson will be thrilled to hear your kind words—they take a lot of pride in working efficiently while treating every item with care.
