Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Premium Packing & Moving Service (Brooklyn, NY → Buffalo, NY) Dear Freedom Moving & Storage, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the premium packing and moving service I purchased for my relocation from Brooklyn, NY to Buffalo, NY. (July26, July 28, 2025) I chose your company, under the Mayflower brand, specifically because of its reputation for professionalism and quality. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below those standards.
If I could give no stars I would. I went with Mayflower because they are nationally known and been around for years. Although the agent and the movers were quite nice, they failed to explain to this first time mover why I should seriously consider their EXTRA insurance over their pennies on the pound included insurance for furniture.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I was told that Suddath was actual movers by their reservations rep, only to find out that they contract out their jobs. I was told that because my apartment was on the 2floor, it was included, only to find out it's only 8 steps. Anything over is extra charge. I've never lived anywhere that had 8 steps to the 2floor when I called to speak with there rep, he didn't care (although he seemed so attentive prior to making my reservation) and told me if I had complained he…

Most horrible experience ever!!! I would never recommend this company! It started by breaking the most expensive item I own, my glass table by leaving glass inserts on the couch then neglecting to pay attention what they were doing. They were moving everything sporadically not handling ANYTHING with care when moving out of the apartment. Several items were lost, damaged and scratched. Our main focus was the table which was a 1500 dollar item of high sentimental value.

This company, I believe, is an agent for and does work for Mayflower. They were the company who answered my need for an estimate for a cross-country move and I made an appointment for a virtual estimate. The estimate went as planned but that's where the relationship ended because I never heard from them again. I circled back with the company and the person who conducted the estimate and she replied saying sorry that she never sent the estimate since they did not have anything available anyway.

I was given one quote and then when my mover showed up they charged me 200$ more to bubble wrap... now I understand bubble wrap is extra bit the items they bubble wrapped did not need it. I had no mirrors, pictures, or tvs. I feel this was merely to get more money. Upon delivery they attempted to charge for an item which was heavy even though it was on the original itinerary.

Just perfect at the beginning, had them do a complete pack and ship. But when they unpacked the dining table, there was a crack in the top of the table. They sent in someone to try and patch up the table, which now looks like a table which has been patched. Despite the fact that I purchased extra replacement insurance, they will not replace this table that they damaged.

I had really high hopes for this company i needed them for a small move. I contacted them for a estimate and did a video chat over the phone. The gentleman said that I would get an email with the estimate in about 2 days, I never heard anything back from them after the video call, no phone call no email no nothing very disappointing and not professional.

We moved across the country -- NJ to California, and have a LOT of things, including a lot of fine art some of which had to be crated. Suddath did a reasonably good job and I would use them again. What I liked -- our move coordinator, Sarah Jones (give her 5 stars), kept us informed at both ends of the move -- the pick up and the delivery, and she helped to solve problems -- always professional.

Freedom Moving & Storage is a first class operation. Every aspect from the first phone call to the actual move was great!! This was a very difficulty move for my family. They moved my wife's parents to an independent/assisted living facility. We were stressed to the max and the team at Freedom set us at ease. From the salesperson to the move coordinator to the moving team, they were all great!! On move day the crew arrived right on time. They rang the doorbell and introduced themselves as we invited them in.
