Predatory, incompetent, dishonest, and unprofessional. Buyer beware. First, be aware that booking with this company includes a $1 deposit with a $1500 cancellation fee. This did not apply in my case because I didn’t cancel, but it is worth knowing. Now for the nightmare of actually dealing with them. I booked a move from Victoria to Vancouver a month in advance and I did not hear from the until three weeks later when I called to confirm whether they had ever received my booking.
We had an awful experience with Island Movers. Yes, they moved our stuff (eventually) but they left things behind and were generally careless. Their "packing" was awful. Several of our items were damaged, including smashing the leg off a solid oak coffee table which they somehow neglected to tell us about. When challenged, they kept referring back to their 60c per pound "insurance". Beware. The compensation for them smashing your $3000 TV would be about $36. Make sure you have your own separate insurance.
My experience with this company was unbearable. First they arrived late and I was told 3 movers but only 1 showed up and he thought he could do it all himself, his excuse was the other guys they hired didn't …
Hi Mahmoud, We’re sorry you had this experience with a different company - if you had booked with Island Movers, this never would have happened! We have no record of your name or move in our CRM and no move that matches this description at all.
Quoted me $1200 but when I confirmed the booking the price became $3400 unless I decided to wait indefinitely. Evidently other customers are to blame.

We moved from the Midwest of USA to a warehouse storage in Surrey. They would go no further. We found Island Movers and they were happy to move us the rest of the way to a Southern Gulf Island. They were reasonable price, professional, friendly and right on time. We had a great set of movers on mainland side and then at our home we had, Mike, Joseph and Sohil. Everyone was the best you could ask for . Highly recommend
We've done two moves with island movers. Every time their office team handles the logistics very smoothly. Their pickup and delivery crews are professional, fast, and careful. My crew was joseph, michael, ayush and sahil. We were so grateful to have their help with our move!
Professional and courteous with great communication at every step of the process. Michael and Seyi exhibited calm leadership that made us feel confident that everything would go smoothly. And it did! Highly recommended.
Island movers moved a portion of our father‘s belongings from his home of 45 years in Victoria, to a senior’s residence in Vancouver. There were some large, heavy, and awkward shaped pieces – and Mike and his team were simply amazing! They wrapped everything fully, and loaded the van carefully to accommodate a very full load. Not to mention that the driveway was long, narrow and set back from the road, so the truck couldn’t reach the house fully.
