Jay’s Transportation Group Regina Moving

We had contacted Jay Transportation in Swift Current to pack and move out items to Regina. Asked that the items remain in storage until another place was secured for us to move into. When the packer arrived they smelted like cannabis and were very slow moving. They took a break which I was OK with however they came back in after the break there was a very strong odor of cannabis from both packers. I put a call into Jays on May 20th to inquire about having our stuff delivered on the 1st.

I hired Jays REGINA to move from Regina to Ontario with one drop in Alliston and second in Ottawa. The dates set wereJuly6-16. Crew was late moving day; took 6 hours to load truck. As date of move approached I was not getting clear answers from Jays for departure. Paperwork was changed to July7-17 without my knowledge. I was also not told that they work with Atlas to complete the move so I was relying on them for information. Responded well after departure date about when they left.

They FAILED to deliver on the date they promised, damaged my furniture, lost multiple boxes, and charged me 60% more than the estimate. They failed to notified me of the actual weight/costs until I chased the information down from them. They demanded payment (remember 60% more) before delivery, and kept my stuff as hostage until I paid. I had insurance to get a refund for going over 110% of the estimate.

Dealing with a Dwight Punshon was EXTREMELY RUDE to my family member over the phone. He was "too busy" for taking payment of an e-transfer and "didn't have time for this small amount of money to be transferred". Disgusting behaviour. How can anyone talk to people like that and have a job. He should not work in any sales position. I feel bad for anyone who deals with this peice of work.

If you have to do a short distance move, this is one company you do not want to use. I would never use them on a cross country move. We had all furniture taken apart and all boxes stacked in the living room. First the guys showed up almost 2 hours late. They had about half our stuff loaded up in a couple of hours. They then said the truck was full. I asked how they planned to get the rest moved. They told me i would have to reschedule another day because there were no other trucks available.

Absolutely disgusted with this company. They shipped our possessions without our knowledge or permission just before Christmas after we requested heated storage (for a reason). This action allowed our possessions to be exposed to the extreme freezing temperatures, for a prolonged amount of time, without even having a civic address to ship them to. They could not tell us where our goods were after repeated requests and then claimed they were being stored in a secure location in Halifax.

Two recent deliveries of washing machines. First delivery the installer broke our cold water shut off valve. The next time the day installer managed to break the hot water shut off valve as well. Whatever, mistakes happen (although twice is a bit surprising) however Jays parent company metro supply is refusing to accept any responsibility or cover repairs directly linked to their actions.

If you intend to use Jay’s for a move you’d best buy extra insurance. We were to have our furniture in storage and our house insurance covered it. We got an earlier move date and because of personal issues we didn’t purchase the extra insurance. We forgot. Almost every piece of furniture was marked somewhere. The tops had scratches and it appeared as though no blankets were used when stacking the furniture.
