We used Liffey for a local NYC move. We had the worst moving experience ever. We have moved numerous times over the years and though it is never fun, Liffey made it a miserable and expensive experience. The crew was very rude. They also damaged furniture. Rolled an expensive circular coffee table down the sidewalk. We purchased ample insurance for the move and when we submitted claims, they wouldn't answer emails for over 3 months (when insurance clam window was up) and blamed it on COVID.
I would give zero stars if I could. I called and set up an appointment for them to come and give me an estimate today at 9:00 a.m.. not only did they never confirm, but they never showed up either. They had all of my contact information so there was no excuse for this. I had to lose time from work for no reason. Very unprofessional.
Hi Marie, So sorry to see this - If we have an onsite appointment that is confirmed we most definitely show up. My thought is that you may have made a reservation with a third party online service and not direct with Liffey?
If you do not want your things stolen and auctioned, please consider putting your things elsewhere. They will rummage through your things, extract things of value and then pretend they do not know what you are talking about. Employees …
So sorry to see this review and that you feel this way! I can assure you that our facility is the most secure that you will find. Individual locked units, cameras, security on site - Theft is not a concern here with the operation we run here
I would not hire Liffey Van Lines again. Liffey packed and moved my effects with so little concern that it saw to stacking heavy items on top of items clearly marked as fragile, doing damage to containers and contents, knocked a leg off of an antique table clearly indicated to them as fragile, and then chose not to be honest about the situation in two different ways on two separate occasions.

Awful experience with Liffey Van Lines. Mike with the British accent was extremely rude almost every time I spoke to him on the phone. Did not listen to a single detail I told them about what we were looking for in the move. The move was due to my father’s sudden and unexpected passing and we needed them to pack and move all items themselves since it would be hard for the family to do this in their state.

Can't tell you how they are at moving, but I can tell you how they are at communicating, because they booked our timeslot out from under us. I called to setup a pickup. They suggested an in-home estimate. I asked what the downside is to getting an estimate. They said it would just take a week to get someone to come take a look. I said great. They call me the morning of the estimate and tell me they booked all time slots and won't have room until next month. We don't live here next month!
Expensive, bad (yet kind) people, and did I say expensive? The place is very well kept but I bet most of the items there that they have as adornments, are from victims that couldn't pay the very steep monthly price, there are other places that charge 1/4th of the price they asking for a 5x10 storage, probably much less than that, they even charge you for using a credit card...

Horrible experience with Liffey. They were negligent packing a large glass top - as a result it shattered. Refused to take responsibility and cover us for the damage. Please do not use this company.
