In their own words
I believed all the great reviews on Yelp and Reddit for a 1 bedroom condo move from LA to Brooklyn, NY. Before we hired PoC, we sent a thorough inventory of our items and asked if they should pack our fragile items (like a projector and vintage stereo amplifier). Piece of cake assured us that they noted this in their “system” and their assured us that these items will be handled carefully.

I wish I could rate them lower than 1 star TL;DR Avoid for Long-Distance: Hostile Crews and Predatory Billing Practices We chose Piece of "Cake" for a move from NYC to the Bay Area based on their "premium" reputation, but the experience was a nightmare. This isn’t just about broken items; it’s about a total lack of professional ethics. 1. Predatory "Bill Padding" : We watched their packers wrap single small items (like a steel bowl) in massive amounts of paper to fill up boxes unnecessarily.

I didn’t even use their service but after today I never will: my roommate and I were moving out at the same time- roommate used piece of cake while I was using a different moving company. Because of this, I took the time to color code my boxes and made sure to inform movers which items were mine to take. I walked out of my room to see them immediately packing MY boxes, while blatantly ignoring the instructions my roommate made sure to give.
STAY AWAY!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY FOR CROSS COUNTRY MOVES !!! I used POC once while moving in NYC and that was a great experience so I decided to use them again for my cross country move. I REGRET IT SO MUCH. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. First of all, I was getting all their ads about flat rate moving so I reached out to get a quote. I sent a preliminary list of big items and they said $1.5k which is a great price. HOWEVER, this is how they get you.
Our third move with Piece of Cake was a complete disappointment. We had used the company twice before for nearly identical moves and had always been extremely happy with the service. That's why what happened this time was so surprising. Our original quote was $7,627. After the crew had already begun packing, we were told the move would cost an additional $8,500 because we supposedly had far more property than originally inventoried. After objecting, the increase was reduced to $6,500.25.
Tony, we're sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your recent moving experience, especially after having entrusted us with your previous moves. To provide an accurate quote and ensure the proper crew, truck size, equipment, and time are scheduled, it is important that the inventory and…
I would give 0 stars if I could. I hired Piece of Cake Moving for what should have been the easiest move imaginable — a one-bedroom apartment, 4 minutes down the road. A storage bed, couch, dining table with 4 chairs, console table, 2 TVs, 16 bags, a laundry hamper, two mirrors, and a vanity chair. That's it. We did everything we could to set this crew up for success. We offered them water, food, and use of our restrooms.

I chose this moving company because of its strong reputation and positive reviews. After living in my home for 30 years, I entrusted them with moving my most valuable and sentimental belongings, expecting professionalism and care. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of those expectations. During the move, the team damaged a one-of-a-kind, collectible B&B Italia dining table valued at $15,000.
Whoever was driving on 08/15/26 around 3 PM in McLean, Virginia was driving like an absolute maniac. They ran a stop sign and almost T-boned me while I was going straight. They continued running multiple stop signs and red lights and were …

Dear Ophelia, we’re so pleased your move was a seamless one that made this new chapter an easier transition. It’s everything we hoped for you! Thank you so much for taking the time to publicly thank our team and include details of your experience.
Nikola and team were fast, friendly, and professional. I swear these guys defy the laws of gravity and/or are trained in the Olympics. They were lifting my “heavy” boxes like they were rolls of paper towels and running up and down the very narrow flights of stairs in our old, renovated tenement building in the East Village like they were on a conveyor belt. I barely had time to bid a teary-eyed fond farewell to our apartment of over 26 years before they were already at the second location, dropping everything off.
Dear Dina, we can’t thank you enough for detailing your experience with your recent move. We can hear the sheer relief in your words and we are delighted for you. It’s what we’re here for.
This is the 6th time I use them. They were once again out standing. This time I used the full service and they did all the packing. It was unreal. They did everything so quickly and so carefully I was amazed. The guys were polite, professional, careful, and thorough. Their prices are reasonable and actually ridiculously low. I still can’t believe how the full service went. I literally sat there and did nothing.I will never use any other company other than Piece Of Cake.
How wonderful to hear that Salvatore! Thank you for sharing your fabulous moving experience. We loved moving you. … More
I had a surprisingly large amount of stuff for a studio apartment, but Piece of Cake handled everything professionally and efficiently from start to finish. The movers were incredibly polite, organized, and respectful throughout the entire process. Despite the volume of items, they worked quickly while still taking great care of my belongings. I also appreciated how accommodating they were with a few last-minute changes and requests on moving day.
There is nothing we love hearing about more 정하영 , than a move well done! We appreciate you right back, for choosing to move with us and then taking the time to share your experience with a detailed review.
