In their own words
Horrible experience. Quite a few of my things are either missing or broken. To top it all off, they charged more than the agreed price on the contract! Save yourself from added stress, and money.
Meathead Movers is without question the most negligent, unprofessional, and outright disgusting moving company I have ever dealt with. They charged me over $4,000 for a pack-and-move job that was only a 40-mile move—and it was so careless I had to throw away countless ruined items. They left behind over $1,500 worth of my belongings in my old apartment, then tried to claim those items weren’t on their “table of measurements” despite the fact that they were. They were simply too lazy to move them.
The movers themselves were really great. Nice guys, hard workers and took good care of my things for the most part. That said my mattress was damaged during the move. These things happen though and I'm not terribly upset by the damage. Where Meathead Movers has been a real disappointment is in their handling of the damage. It took almost 10 days to get the correct person on the phone to try to resolve the damage.
We are working with Matt regarding his damage claim. Our claims process is regulated by our governing industry and is based upon the valuation selected on move day. When Matt brought to our attention the damage, we explained what would be needed to file a claim and he was sent our claims form via…
We used Meathead Movers on Friday, May 1, 2026, around 4:00 PM, and this was absolutely not a 5-star experience. We hired professional movers because I had recently fractured my ankle and my mother is disabled and has epilepsy. We specifically needed help because neither of us should have been left doing heavy move-related labor. This was discussed with Rihanna from their office, so the company was aware that we needed actual moving assistance.
Thank you again for taking the time to speak with us directly. After reviewing the move with our crew and listening to the recorded calls, we confirmed that the inventory and scope of services were discussed in advance, including that wall-mounted items would need to be removed prior to the move.
We paid a fortune to have MeatHead Movers move our furniture. We were assured they would take the utmost care and we paid for their insurance just to ensure our valuables were taken care of. My first (though, not chief) complaint is they took their time doing everything; despite the fact there were 7-10 strong, young men and they were being paid by the hour. Next, though they took their time ... they were clumsy: a scratch here, a squash there and they didn't listen to instructions.
Read all of the other bad reviews and AVOID MEATHEAD MOVERS AT ALL COSTS. Read the Yelp reviews as well. All of the bad reviews are the same. They have a problem. They ARE NOT professional movers, yet they charge a VERY expensive professional price. Their prices are not competitive, especially for the level of service they provide. The movers they sent made no effort to treat our furniture, belongings, or home with any amount of care.
I used Meathead Movers about two years ago and had a positive experience. I called them a few weeks ago to get an estimate for a new move, and it came back exceptionally high (around $840 for a one-bedroom move where we were leaving most of the furniture behind). They sent me an estimate via email, but I did not sign or return it as I chose to go with a different company.
The move from hell. I wrote a better written review that got wiped so I’m sorry for this rushed one. The movers sent were inexperienced. Use anyone else you can find. We hired someone else a week later and they cost a third of the price with no issues for three men instead of two. I would have been better off with homedepot hired hands for a hundred a day. You hire professionals so you can have the move done for you stress free, no hassle, with no damage. We got the total opposite.

In their own words
We just spent today with the Meathead Movers team and wanted to share our experience. We normally try to tackle moving stuff on our own, but this job was just too big for us: moving auntie out of the home she’s lived in for 50 years. Meathead Movers popped up on Google search right away and had great reviews, so we gave them a call. Talked to Hans, he gave us a reasonable quote over the phone. The Meathead Movers team arrived on time. Team lead Emilio assessed the situation, listened to us, and answered questions.
Thank you, Em, for sharing your wonderful experience with us; it’s great to hear that Hans, Emilio, Allen, and Alfonso provided the care and professionalism you needed for such an important move. Your recommendation means a lot to us!
I had the need for a quick an easy move of an already stored 10X10 room of wood furniture. I Goggled local mover and quickly got a moving request form to fill in. I then received information from 7 local movers. Prices were similar; It should cost about $500. I sent emails to all 7 movers requesting proof of a CA moving license and workman’s comp insurance. To make a long and tedious story short, NONE of these movers could provide proof of insurance. I started my search all over again.
Wonderful moving company! Seriously a 10 out of 10. This company is a California, local team. They are close knit and keep you informed all along the way. There are no unexpected charges. And they won’t make you get up at the crack of dawn for your move! Thank goodness! Very accommodating, conscientious and clean! Helpful, intuitive, and kind. I felt like I was treated like family. The team understood my circumstances and were incredibly helpful and thoughtful.
Thank you, Margie, for your wonderful feedback! It's great to hear that you felt treated like family and appreciated our team's hard work and communication. We're glad we could make your long-distance move a positive experience. Wishing you all the best in your new location!
5.0 star rating 9/8/2017 From beginning to end, the service and experience with Meathead Movers was incredible. Over the phone communications were articulate, clearly explained, and personable. Email communications were professional and detailed. My movers RJ and Davis arrived early, and could not have been more professional, polite, and pleasant on all levels. They were able to get all the moving done within my allotted timeframe- and were beyond gracious.
