Edit: provided email with proof of move given the response. I used to live in Seattle and had used them for a move previously They were rude, disappeared for an hour and overcharged me. They also damaged furniture and the walls. Do not trust them.

I never leave negative reviews, but I would want to know about the experience I had with People Movers, especially with all the positive reviews posted. Please note, this review has nothing to do with the movers themselves. They were very professional, kind, and fast. This is a review for the administrative side of People Movers. We booked our move to begin between 8 and 9am on a Tuesday. We received a call on Monday saying they had double booked us, and they wouldn't be coming until between 2 and 5pm.
The only reason this company has so many five star reviews is because they make you take out your phone on the spot and write one in front of them after they are done. I was originally quoted $365 (2 hours) and they ended up charging me over $1000 for 6 hours of work to move my small one bedroom apartment to another one that was 10-15 minutes away. There was no disassembly/reassembly required, they had full elevator access and every single item I own was already in a box and taped up before the movers got there.

I suspect the reviews outside of mine are not legitimate and are falsely inflating their current rating.** When we originally moved we used two guys and a moving van, they were FANTASTIC. They charged us $600 to do our entire house, they had professional equipment and even handled our piano. Our realtor wanted to try these guys so we gave it a shot.

Alex and his crew was fast, careful and professional. They came in and dud a great job moving my items with care. I hear horror stories of movers and was a bit worried going into the service.
