Shield Moving

********PLEASE DO NOT USE THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU******** I used this company May 5/25/24, to ONLY PACK THE TRUCK NOT TO STEAL MY ITEMS the movers were L & E or L & A a tall White skinny guy and a short Mexican guy with glasses. THEY STOLE FROM ME, they did not know how to pack a truck 1st of all I had a family member that did packing for 15 years so I had him there to Supervise them, once when the truck was full we started on filling my car, so my Nephew left since all the big stuff was loaded.

Update: it took a review bomb for them to recognize my concerns but they rectified the situation and were good on their word. genuinely so bummed out about my entire experience with Shield Moving. They showed up an hour and a half late, And still charged me $75 extra. Harry, the manager was not personable and threw my things around. A ton of my stuff was damaged- I reached out to them and they essentially just blew me off and nothing got resolved.

This place is TERRIBLE!!! They give you a quote that’s actually low and you believe them. I switched my mover because they actually said they provide packing service which I needed due to my health. But, their original quote was reasonable and then after the move?? They double it!!! Get a new mover if you went with these people. They aren’t transparent with pricing at all. They think I’m the crazy one fudging numbers. I told them I had a mover already when I called them initially.

I have used shield moving several times. During the first few times it was just to unload or set up some furniture in my home. No problems, they actually did a pretty good job wrapping the furniture. The problems started though when I hired them for a full house move last year. Again the furniture was wrapped pretty well. The owner himself did a pretty good job. I would say though at all costs DO NOT hire these guys to pack items. They had absolutely no idea what they were doing.

Writing on behalf of my grandmother, who had a series of alarming exchanges with these people April 28th, 2023. Prior to the move, my grandmother explicitly asks if they had insurance because they have a number of irreplaceable expensive items. Shield moving said they had insurance. Of course, a very expensive antique marble table was broken in the move, as well as, an expensive French cabinet. The mover says "I am the insurance", unsure what that means.

horrible movers! ran out of packing tape and didn’t think to get any for us, leading us to wait for the manager to bring it to them. they spent unneeded time rearranging things in the truck for it to fit, when we had less than 20 pieces of furniture. also came about 3 hours later than initially stated. this overall took about 7 hours, which they tried to charge $900 for. they gave us a discount for time, but still wouldn’t give us a reasonable price and we had to pay $750.

Let me start by saying that 1 start is actually for people that came to unload the truck. The set up time for unloading was set for 8 am on a Saturday. They showed up at 8:30 am (not really that bad). I asked for 3 guys for 3 hours. What I got that morning was a small guy, his wife and his teenager nephew. We partially paid upfront most of the fees and beeing Saturday morning I thought might as well give them a try. Sorry to say this but they weren't able to lift and carry heavier stuff like sofas and dressers.

Worse moving company I would not recommend and those guys haves sticky fingers and the owners is not nice to his employees bosses them around and waste time why they move everything and lift everything and they put holes in my wall and tried to hide them with my furniture
