Absolute worst moving company ever! They put our vehicle inside the semi truck, which we found out is illegal! Then they packed everything in and around our vehicle that damaged the vehicle and our stuff. DESTROYED my wedding arch!!! They were 5 hours late picking our stuff up. We had to leave all of our stuff outside for them to pack because we had to be on the road. Then when they arrived, it took them 8 hours to unload into our storage unit!!!
Slater packed and stored our household goods until a cross-country driver could be found to ship our posessions from Las Vegas to Cincinnati. Slater never wrapped our furniture or other lose items (vacuum cleaner, miter saw, yard tools, etc.). We have tons of damage, destroyed, and missing goods. Looking at the contents of the truck that shipped our belongings was appalling. It was like the truck was a dumpster and they had thrown our home in there like it was garbage.
We hired this company to move us from St George, UT to central Pennsylvania. Although our load weighed 1200 lbs under their estimate, the charge was only $38. less. We were never provided weight tickets or an itemized bill. We were directed to pay more than $7500 before the crew would unload our belongings. I sent an email detailing our concerns to Atlas and, true to form, never received a response.
Packed my stuff in front of me nicely. Behind closed door they went thru all of my stuff and repacked everything. When I got my stuff back a year later while serving in Korea. I discovered broken items, missing items and stuff packed with no care. Do not use this company!

Can’t even give them one star …Do not use if you own anything of value! They had no idea how to pack and scratched, broke and destroyed many things that they wouldn’t admit to.

We were lucky enough to have the same team from Slater make two different deliveries, and in both cases they were friendly, efficient, responsive, and courteous. The second delivery was an all-day effort with our shipment of household goods, and Mike, Henry, and Lessie worked hard from start to finish and were unfailingly helpful to the end. We would be happy to work with them again anytime.
The packer crew and the moving crew were very professional and friendly. They even wrapped the door frames to prevent damage to the house! I have moved 32 times in the past 18 years, and this was the first time I saw such care taken to prevent damage to my house and property!
The crew showed up right on time, unloaded and unpacked everything for us, and were friendly, efficient, and professional all along the way. They made the whole process so easy and pleasant that I'd be very happy to work with them again.
I've heard so many unscrupulous stories about moving companies so I felt it was imperative I give my 2 cents worth about Slater Transfer and Storage. If you are planning a move, don't hesitate to consider another company for the safety of your valuable possessions. They are honest, dependable, communicative, reliable and extremely helpful and friendly, and I highly recommend them for your peace of mind. They are true to their commitment to you and will leave you with a pleasant experience. A+
