In their own words
Although the 3 guys who showed up to move us did do a good job, they all smelled of marijuana, badly and all day. That is very unprofessional and dangerous beings that you’r not only packing up heavy furniture but driving a long distance as well. The main reason for this bad review is my husband has a treadmill (that was working fine the morning of the move) and when they set it up at our new house it wasn’t working properly.
Upon requesting service the representative was kind and courteous (the reason for the 1 star). However, when the team arrived they made me aware of a different quoted price that was not outlined at the beginning of the contract. I was apprehensive but needed the service so I proceeded with the service. I was charged a rate for 3 hours + overages despite the employed movers talking and not using their time effectively. One even used my bathroom for extended amount of time, sharing that his stomach hurt.
Wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. South Jersey Moving made us miss our closing time by close to 3 hours. Their employees were riding my childrens’ bikes around the street while racking up their hourly rate. A second truck was needed for the move and when the driver showed up he said in exact quote “this is too much work for a Friday” and left! By the time he was convinced to come back and do his job we were far beyond our closing time.
I wouldn't move with this company is I was paid to. They quoted me at a modest competitive price, then sent a four man team that took their time moving from an apartment to a home. We treated the movers to lunch at our home when they arrived and they tacked that time eating on as another hour of work. After all was said and done their estimate was significantly lower then the actual price at the end of the day. It was not a good experience and when suggesting movers I just tell people who not to use.

100% professional experience with South Jersey Moving! From prompt replies and easy communication to on time arrivals, this company delivered. The service was great too, and the price was the most reasonable I could find. Highly recommend.
I have moved more than 20 times, both with and without movers and I have to say this is the best moving company I've done business with. They were extremely fast but also incredibly careful, not a single item was damaged or wall scratched, despite our house having low ceilings and small entryways. We are in a horrible heatwave and regardless of any difficulties our mover JR and Sheron were exemplary. To top it all off the price was also great.
I first worked with South Jersey Moving 10 years ago when I moved from Washington Twp to Cherry Hill. When our original settlement date fell through 48 hours before our move, José was totally understanding and had no problem rescheduling. A month later his team completed our move, taking great care not to damage our belongings or our home--and for a very reasonable price! Recently, I purchased a new desktop for a loft-office that overlooks our living room.
First class experience from start to finish. Well executed, nothing damaged. Make sure you plan things well in advance…tell them what you need to move in detail - and they will follow your plan to the letter. Wrapped and padded everything perfectly. Even set up a bed and kitchen table for us. Pleasant, hard working, down to earth men who work quickly and safely. Great crew. Help this business. It’s worth it.
