Worst move ever. I would rate them a minus if that was an option. SW American Movers stated that they were a full service moving company but acted as a broker in our in our move. A moving crew came to our house late with a U-Haul truck. No name logo. Every time we turned around the cost of our binding contract went up. In the end we paid almost double just under $9,000 for a move from North Carolina to Virginia. The move was a disaster. Four days after pickup they showed up late again.
*edit at bottom of post* This company was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I used them based on a recommendation, and I deeply regret it. They were completely nonresponsive during the entire process — I had to chase them down for updates, and when I finally got through, the answers were vague and unhelpful. But the real nightmare? They lost all of my belongings. Everything from my apartment — gone. No accountability, no urgency, no resolution.

My overall moving experience was disappointing. The company is very pleasant during the sales process, but I found their approach to be misleading. I was told I would be working directly with their own trucks and drivers, yet a third-party company arrived in a rented Ryder truck. During the quote process, they have you estimate your items and boxes and reassure you that there is “wiggle room” for minor differences. That was not the case.
I truly cannot fathom how terrible of an experience I have had with these pathological liars disguised as a moving company. If I could give them zero stars I would. …

Smooth Move and Great People! I had a fantastic experience with this moving company. The crew was friendly, hardworking, and handled everything carefully. They packed, loaded, and unloaded quickly without a single issue. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and they even helped rearrange furniture in my new place. I couldn’t have asked for better service — highly recommended!
Four men showed up on time and worked for a solid six hours stopping only for a short break and lunch. They were professional and very courteous. They didn’t damage anything. Great job at a fair price. Highly recommend Southwest American Moving.
I recently had to move cities and was having a hard time choosing a moving company, was recommended by a friend to try Southwest American Moving. Best decision I've ever made but specifically because he and his team, made everything so easy and smooth. They are such amazing people and workers, they are timely, communicative and professional. We even had to make a stop at my mom's house to leave some furniture and they were just as accommodating to her, she was also very impressed and grateful.

I highly recommend Southwest American Moving for your small or big move. They took care of all the items I didn't have time to pack in boxes and even disassembled then reassembled my murphy bed. It was a long day but they took care of everything as efficiently as possible.
