I would have gladly paid what they were asking, because I understand the value of a particular set of skills, and (I'm hoping) would also be tuning the piano once it's moved...or at least they'd better be to start at $175. But the woman I just spoke to on the phone was extremely rude. I'll pass. Awful customer service.
Terrible experience. Because other people cancelled their move, the workers were sent home early and my move was now to be rescheduled. Other people's issues are not my problem. Called at 9 to do a drop off prepared for 3, I am at work and technically not allowed to answer my phone. As a result, three people are waiting on a piano that never gets delivered because of their last minute decision. Not professional!
Called them to move a hot tub. They couldn't do it in my timeframe and their prices were rather high. Just moved it myself.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Wow, this service is OUTSTANDING! I have had to move upright pianos since I was in my early 20's. Luckily friends with muscles and trucks always helped me move my upright pianos. Sadly with every move something dreadful always happened. Once, a friend pulled their sciatic, scratches to the wood, knicks and parts of the wood casing were knocked off. After I moved to Ohio, I needed a piano and hired 2 Guys and a Truck.
The movers at A1 were highly professional, courteous, and respectful. Jess, in the home office, communicated a 3 hour time window to me the day before. On the delivery day, Isaac called to let me know when they were on their way. I was very impressed by their communication and punctuality, as they arrived earlier in the time window, allowing me extra time to enjoy and play.
Had them move a piano and they did awesome. Very punctual and had it moved from one house to the next really quick
Hi Natalie, Thank you for taking the time to review our service. We appreciate you allowing us to move your piano. I will pass your review along to the team on your move. We wish you many years of enjoyment from the piano! All the best! Steve Hicks
Steve and his team were very friendly and accomodating and the cost was quite reasonable. We needed to have my mother's 70 year old Steinway moved from Northern California to Indianapolis and they worked with us for a timely pickup and then stored the piano for us until our new home in Indy could accomodate it. The loading and unloading teams were extremely professional and courteous and handled our piano with superb attention.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the service you received. We appreciate you letting us handle the cross country move of your mother's prized Steinway Grand Piano. We wish you and your family many years of enjoyment from the piano!
