I have moved multiple times from Wisconsin to Texas to Wyoming and back to Madison. My recent move was from Madison to Oak Park, Illinois. They arrived at 8:15am but started charging me from 6am. Waunakee is 15 miles away from my house. I told them I’d need a large truck for all of my things. They arrived with a trailer. They left behind a large air conditioner, shelves, a hand truck, the cover to a container and told me they had no room for a large dog cage.

Time ballooned from initial 7 to 8 estimated hours to more than 18 hours charged! Worst experience ever! Would not recommend! (update on 1/2/2020, after seeing owner's response) After I left the initial review as in the first paragraph, the owner called me. He sounds like a nice, genuine guy, which leads me to think to delete the review after couple days just to get over this. Now after seeing the owner's response, I was surprised and puzzled. Was I get fooled again by the genuine voice on the other end?

They sent an underaged (16 year old) kid to move our furniture and he broke multiple items. The owner is refusing to provide the insurance information for a claim to be submitted or paying for the damaged items (mulitiple). We are having to take them into a court of law for compensation and we have found out that they treat all of their employees as 1099 and not W-2 so they can avoid taxes and insurance costs. Worst experience ever and hands down the absolute worst moving company ever; use them at your own peril.

They moved my house to a storage unit and packed it all in so that you could not get to any of the things. And later when I moved it out, by another mover, I discovered that many things were missing. These included a marble top to a chest, a record cabinet, a box containing utensils, etc. The second movers were much more professional. I was able to be there when they loaded and unloaded my items, which A1 did not allow me to be there when they unloaded. I would never recommend them to anyone!!!!

Set up for 2 movers. Brendan sent 3, charged an extra $100. an hr. Demanded storage key instead of waiting on me. Stole kitchen items and boxes from my main bedroom. Never were unloaded. Brendan claims they didn't, but he was not involved in the actual move. Filed police report, tried to get some expenses returned, A1(Brendan )refused to cooperate. Bank didn't have enough proof, no cameras in A1 trailers. I will continue to warn other consumers to keep a constant eye on your belongings.

Not happy at all. Had my furniture and walls damaged and a lot of excuses why the two things I wanted moved couldn’t be. So I literally paid for damage to my home and furniture. I’m so angry !!!! I showed them what I needed done and they measured but nothing worked and I got charged over $300 for nothing but damage to my home and piece of furniture and excuses why the dryer couldn’t be moved. Zero stars I got ripped off.

Used this company awhile ago, the worst moving company I've delt with the owner covered up what was really going on with his incompetent workers.... I'm appalled that the owner dismissed my concerns and the Damage that his workers did to some of my items.

We contracted 3 movers to make the move go faster and it took them 12 hrs to do a 6-7 hour job. We have experience moving so this is not new to us but the fact that it took so much time was ridiculous. Very disappointed.

I cannot say enough great things about Bronson and John! They helped me move back in November and it was a breeze. This is the 1st time I have used a moving service and will 100% use A1 in the future. They moved me out of a 1 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor, with no elevator. They showed up right on time, a few minutes early even. And they got me moved out of my apartment, into my new townhouse, in under 4 hours. They even took apart my king size bed and put it back together at the new place.
I had a great experience using A1 Movers of Madison. Great communication with Brandon Lohr to fit me in their schedule when my times changed and the two young movers Cameron and Thiago were friendly, efficient and got the job done as quickly as possible! I would highly recommend this group!

We contracted A-1 Movers to move our household furniture and goods to our newly built house about 30 minutes from our old house. We had most of the goods ready to move but had asked the crew to take apart beds, living room furniture for moving and to put them back together in the new house. The four young gentlemen were a delight to work with; personable, professional, and more than willing to work through requests and problems that can arise during a move.

Trent Powell, Cameron Foote, Roman Warren, Isaiah Karns- Morris were our moving team members. What a dream team!
