In their own words
On the surface this business is friendly and promises great service. This has been a horrible experience with Alison’s Relocation Services. First of all you need to know that Alison’s uses a third party moving company once your belongings leave Alaska. Your belongings sit in Montana for several weeks until they have a load coming your way. During this time some of our stuff is lost and broken. We purchased their insurance and said that we would be covered which as it turns out is a lie.
We used Alison's for a move out of Alaska to the lower 48. First off, they were all very nice and returned calls and/or emails in a very timely manner. My issues lie with the estimate and then the logistics of the move. We chose Alisons in a big part for their estimate as well as the fact I wanted an Alaskan company to do my move.

Worst experience ever. My family shipped our property out-of-state with $30K insurance. After only receiving some items, much of them damaged, I filed a claim for the many missing items. Rather than assist, Allison's actually told the insurance co. that some of our property could still be in our original home! Then, 7 MONTHS later, I learned that most of our property had been destroyed in a vehicle crash, which Allison's failed to disclose. AND if that's not enough, Allison's then told the insurance co.
Do not use this moving company. It is STILL a nightmare. 1st they packed items from a closet that had a large " do not pack". Of course these items did not make it to our new home.When they were ready to deliver they charged us another 700 dollars stating their truck could not getting into our driveway. Which meant all our belongings were off loaded and put on another truck. Alison's said they had no control over the movers here and no guarantee if they packed or did not pack all our stuff.

Very nice people, poor quality movers. Had two moves at the same time - across town Anchorage and Anchorage to Florida. On both moves items were broken, ruined or lost despite their assurance that items would be wrapped and stored together in a moving pod to prevent just such problems. Will go elsewhere for next move.
We unfortunately Alison's. Many of our boxes NEVER arrived. They told us that it wasn't their fault they were missing.They charged us shipping on items that didn't belong to us. When they attempted delivery of items that weren't ours the …
This company has terrible service. They had very poor communication. My shipment was much later than they said it would be. I was missing boxes when my shipment finally arrived. I would NOT recommend them!
I moved 13 boxes from Alaska to the UK for around 8,000$, and it has been delayed over and over again with zero communication from the staff. Do not recommend for long term moves.

When my uncle passed away he left behind a baby grand piano that was gifted to us. The piano was an hour away and my aunt was in the process of moving out of state. I contacted Alison and was able to schedule a move the same week. Even on the coldest day(-36°), the piano was successfully delivered. They packed and protected it for its journey to its new home. On arrival they were careful with bringing it into the house, used moving blankets, protected my floors, set it up and made sure it was where I wanted it.

I have used Allison’s moving services twice now to move household items from Alaska to the lower 48. Both times the service was straight forward and easy and smooth and I was informed every step of the process. The packing team was the same both times and were simply awesome. They all work well together and Chucky was aware of my concerns and made sure they were met. My items arrived at the destination in a timely manner and the delivery both times went smoothly and professionally.
