All My Sons Moving & Storage

I would not recommend this company. I moved on Monday, not only did it take 6 hours for a 1 bedroom apartment but I am missing several items and I have damage to several pieces moved. My room sized rugs were thrown from a third floor stair well. A cabinet was dropped while coming down the stairs. At one point my new neighbors came out and asked the movers to stop screaming. Just an unprofessional group that seemed to care little about my possessions and more about getting home.

I recently hired All My Sons Moving & Storage to relocate my one-and-a-half-bedroom apartment into a storage unit in Austin, TX. While the moving crew was exceptional--personable, attentive, and highly professional--my overall experience was less than satisfactory due to significant issues with the sales and pricing process. I was initially quoted $457, but my final bill came to approximately $1,214.

Using All My Sons in South Austin (Luke, Scott and Jacob Keeler) was the biggest mistake I've ever made - and I’ve made a lot. If every single other moving company is out of business in Austin and you have no other choice, then proceed with caution if you use them. Here's why. For starters, I received an estimate from Amy Mathis via FaceTime. I went from room to room showing her everything and advised her some of these things wouldn't be moved because I'm selling and/or giving them away.

Used for a long distance move last year. Their inventory software didn’t work it crashed every time I got most of the way through logging my items. (At least four times) I ended up emailing it and when I called later to add pieces they said not to worry about it - what they didn’t tell me was those items wouldn’t be covered under the extra insurance I payed (if not logged on an inventory list) and as luck would have it, I received damages on an electric piano I didn’t have on the inventory list.

Total Bait and Switch. They quote $600 for a 5 mile 2 bedroom apt move for my college age daughter, plus a 15% gas fee. Once the furniture was on the truck and upon arrival at the new apt, they refused to unload the truck until we paid $1700, including extra truck fees, $250 in plastic wrap. Don't trust them with quotes or your furniture. DON'T EVER SIGN ANYTHING WITH THEM! as their paperwork says they can hold your furniture hostage until you pay whatever they want you to pay.

I called what I thought was a moving company that would be the actual company sending someone to manage my move. I was quoted $149/hr, 1 hr travel charge and no minimum number of hours. It’s a small move - just 12 chairs and about 20 boxes, going about 5 minutes away. Then, I was contacted by someone who is obviously an unrelated third party contractor quoting $160/hr, two hour minimum and 15% fuel charge. Bait and switch? No thanks.

Do not recommend. Not only did they take a TON of time, they did not properly reassemble two of our beds. Now both are actually broken. One has to be completely replaced because they didn't screw the support beam to the slats and the slats broke and there were missing screws. The other bed is a platform bed that now has many missing screws, and the other leg has a huge crack from a screw being screwed in too tightly. (the bed was only a few months old and was $$ and well made).

Terrible communication, everything they told me was misinformation. They had 1 other move scheduled on my day and when the first one cancelled they couldn’t be bothered to let me know they’d be arriving earlier than expected. They were at my door knocking for 30 minutes and never thought to just call me. Movers were completely unprofessional, specifically Marlon, who was extremely stand off-ish and made off putting side comments the entire time. Gerardo, who works back office had a terrible attitude.
