ALTA MOVING

It started out well. The person on the phone was super friendly and helpful. The guys showed up on time and loaded the truck fast. They were also quite professional. It went downhill from there. We were moving about a 10 minute drive between two places and it took them a long time to get there. They dropped off a couple of things to the suite in the retirement home quickly and then we didn't see them for over half an hour. This happened serval times.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This was our second time using ALTA, and you could not pay me enough to use them again. To start, our move was booked completely incorrectly by Audie. A much smaller team than required was sent, which set the tone for everything that followed. We paid for packing services, which I would absolutely not recommend. Items were not packed properly and nothing was labeled appropriately.

I would give zero stars if possible. It took three guys ten hours to move me from a two bed basement to a one bed apartment. I’ve moved before with more stuff and only two people and never come close to taking ten hours! Also when Kelvin walked in he asked if there was any furniture that was super important or anything to be cautious with, I informed him of the one jewelry armoire I have and that was the only thing I outlined as extremely important to me, cut to later after watching the guys wrap all the rest of…

I had booked Alta Movers to move a bed frame, mattress, and end tables on a Sunday at 11 a.m. for $260. When they did not arrive by noon, I called and no one answered the phone. I left messages, called, and texted, but I got no responses back over the next 3 hours. Finally, I got a call at 2:15 pm to say the movers had arrived, but I had already called someone else to move the bed because I thought I had been scammed. The following week, I noticed my credit card was charged for the move.

Responding to owners reply as other account will not allow me to comment- Thank you for responding to my concerns. I’d like to start by stating that I was not offered replacement value for my tv. The cheapest 60” LG tv I can find is $900, and that’s open box. Secondly, I was also not offered anything for my dresser. I was told, and I quote, “you can fix it yourself, you sound handy.” The level of ignorance, unprofessionalism, and incompetence displayed by your employees has been very insulting and stressful.

Horrible customer service; zero accountability when errors were made. Blamed me (the client) for not knowing the staff intricacies. I asked for 3 staff; they sent two and then yelled at me. Movers shattered my bedframe. manager is trying every trick in the book to not reimburse me. It’s been over a week since my move and the manager won’t call me back. Absolutely repulsive. Movers dragged my custom built mattress on the ground; it’s stained and the seams are ripped.

I had an awful experience with Alta. Not only were valuable items stolen during the move, but the company failed to notify or even respond to us about the incident. Their lack of communication and responsibility is completely unprofessional. It's unacceptable to trust a company with your belongings, only to be met with silence when things go wrong. I would never recommend their services to anyone—stay away!

I was given a budget, and the final invoice was over a $1,000 almost double of what was quoted. Movers were nice, but super slow and I only got two thinking they would be fast. This is not my first rodeo, I moved from countries not once, several times plus moving inside countries. I have never seen a move that should take 3 hr to more than 6 hr and super costly. Very unhappy
