American Knights Moving and Storage INC

I have used professional movers 5 times to make long-distance moves. This was hands-down THE worst moving company I have ever dealt with. 1. The crew for the pick up did not arrive until 4 PM and did not finish packing until 12 midnight. They sent too few people and a truck that was too small. Thankfully the crew was good, but company cut corners and we suffered. 2. It took two weeks for AK to deliver our home goods. And when they came it was a second disaster.

I would give these thieves a zero if I could. Our delivery still has not happened 3 weeks after the delivery date, and I've been given nothing but excuses as to why. There is no timetable for delivery as they "don't have any drivers available." I hired International Van Lines for this move and they subcontracted American Knights Moving. I would have never hired them. They just told me that they can deliver my move whenever, per their contract. These people are liars and crooks.

BEWARE!!!!!!!! This was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. We had booked a moving date and a backup date for our movers. They tell us they are pushing to the backup date, then call when they are supposed to be arriving the morning of the backup date to say they aren’t coming. We were closing on your house (as the sellers) the next day so it left us in an incredible jam!! They were unapologetic but finally sent someone out that night. They charged us much more than quoted.

They have totally unqualified people packing, breaking and destroying your life. I have moved multiple time and have never had this kind of chaos and destruction introduced into my life. They destroyed 1880 French clock , Italian alabaster and bronze lights, 1880 English oak table..... and much more. Be ware they will want to pay you 60cent/ pound to reimburse you. Unless your precious good are rock salt or feed corn do not use them.

TLDR: you are better off throwing your belongings in a fire and starting over than hiring these people to move your stuff. We hire international van lines to move our stuff and they used this contractor to implement the move. They told us they were coming between 11-2 so we arranged for childcare only to have the driver text us and tell us they are coming 2 hours early. So we scramble to find childcare and they show up at 12 (this was the least of our problems).

I am disappointed. I inherited a midcentury couch and a Haywood Wakefield bedroom set from my parents, which is very special to me. It was their first furniture set, bought in 1956. I needed to move them from Louisiana to California. My sister recommended American Knights Moving (AKM). Unfortunately, I did not do much research. Their website said they were not a broker and owned a truck fleet. Their pictures on Google showed two men in AKM shirts carrying a mattress into an AKM truck via a ramp.

Overall, my experience with American Knights Moving was terrible. I moved from Texas to North Carolina in November 2021. I got a job offer to NC and had to move quickly. The move was booked through Safeway Moving Company, who didn't tell me that they would be outsourcing to American Knights Moving. The movers who picked up my things were extremely professional and communicated well with me before arriving at the apartment. From that point on, it was a headache getting any kind of information from the company.

Planning to file multiple claims with multiple sources against this group. Executive desk (one piece) snapped into 3 pieces and then wrapped individually, taped, completely destroyed (they destroyed it, then wrapped each piece in blankets and heavily taped each one). 95% of fabric furniture stained and / or destroyed, multiple chairs legs severed, arms smashed and destroyed. Fragile boxes marked and wrapped piled under heavy items. Mover showed up with hourly Craigs list hires with no tools, box cutters etc..
