American way van & storage suck! They first give you and estimate of 2,200.00 total but then change the price to 3,600.00! And 3 pieces of furniture was destroyed! Antique furniture at that! The price from the broker is different from the actual movers price! When confronted about the policy the mover stated "well that's the broker's policy not ours..!!! And we were charged for a deposit twice and the broker said we'd get our money back within a few days....it's been 3 and a half weeks!
Tracy, I read your review and it seems you are the third or fourth customer that has ended up on our reviews regarding another mover with a name similar to ours. We are out of Dayton, Ohio. We only do locals in our state and we are not a broker.
Honestly Speaking American Way Moving is Such a bad Company. Not to hire them. When we book them they are super cooperative and after pay them $1100 down of $2200 commitment, they said don’t worry about space, we understand stuffs some time could take little more space we will menage it. After the day arrived DAVID called us and he is so bad, disrespectful and super rude guy said you have to pay more money for that space. We share our house hold list of stuffs with them.

The sales person Eric is a smooth talking liar., of the worst kind. He would set up the move, make his bid, call several times over the next month telling me not to worry not to worry, EVERYTHING will be taken care of, telling me I had an estimate, that the price won't go above. He assured me several times about objects I continually asked about. Oh no everything will be taken care of. Day of packing, what a liar.
Guy on the phone was so nice! Then the movers came and what he said was not true, finally got a hold of customer service and they said I couldn’t resolve the issue until 48hours later (after paying the full amount). I asked them to just take what was in the contract like 10 times and they point blank refused. They took 1/2 of the items quoted for 15% more than the quote. We ended up getting a $600 U-Haul to avoid paying thousands extra.
Meaghan, I first want to start off by saying thank you for the review. I believe the company you are looking for is American Way moving out of Florida. I read over your review and one major red flag is we don't ever take money on an interstate move until it is delivered at destination.
We used American Way Van and Storage for our move back in December and have nothing positive to say in the least. We had just purchased all brand new Kitchen Aid appliances just to have the entire front panel of our dishwasher completely dented in and irreparable. I reached out to them right after our move knowing that they were closed until the New Year, which was totally understandable.
It saddens me that this customer publicly gave the impression that we were not working constantly trying to resolve the claim in the timely manner that was allotted. She failed to state one main reason for the first delay was our whole office developing COVID which the customer was aware of so…
Estimated me at 3500 with a not-to-exceed price of 4175, repeatedly said "I expect the price to come in closer to 2500-2900 due to weight." and then the price came out to 4500. My advice? Use any of the other moving companies for half the price. Despite sending them an iMover video and an exact breakdown of my stuff, there was somehow a $2000 variance in price.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with National Van Lines and American Way, and I would not recommend their services to anyone. The issues began as soon as the driver picked up my items, after which all communication stopped. Eric, the estimator, was extremely unprofessional, constantly arguing with me and even raising his voice multiple times after my belongings were picked up. The blankets used by the driver to wrap my furniture were filthy, and many of my items arrived damaged.

I can't tell you what it is like to move with this company, all I can tell you is how horrible the initial services are. Their main office called me two days before my appointment for a review call, they didn't seem to know when my appointment was. On the day of the scheduled appointment the person coming out to do the estimate was late. He didn't bother to call to say he was going to be late so I called him directly.

Overall, my experience with this moving team was great. The company has excellent communication, which made the scheduling and planning very easy. The crew was professional and on time, but they were also very helpful and understanding. Moving several hours away is a big deal and very stressful, but these guys made the whole process feel manageable. • Brandon: Brandon was a huge help in lowering my stress about the long-distance move. He was very understanding and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time.
Fantastic experience. They treated my items and my house as their own. I thereafter recommended them to my daughter who also needed movers and she was also thrilled with that experience. Best team and fair price.

I wanted to pass on the note I felt compelled to write to the owner of this amazing company following our move. We moved from Cincinnati to Toledo, so we had one crew load the truck Saturday and then another (mostly the same) unload on Monday. I needed to reach out and tell you how pleased we were with the work done for us the past few days. Both crews (Saturday and Monday) were extremely professional and treated our home and belongings with the utmost care.
My family and I had a wonderful experience with American Way! We recently moved out of state and our whole experience, start to finish, was exceptional. Eric Wright was our main contact throughout the whole process - he is professional, honest, and reliable. He did a thorough estimate of our belongings, followed up appropriately, and was very flexible and patient when I had to change dates around multiple times.
