Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Careless Handling We had a deeply frustrating experience with this moving company. Communication was disorganized from the start. We were originally scheduled for a specific move-in date, but then the driver contacted us directly to change it to a day earlier—without coordination with the main office. We couldn’t get confirmation from the company over the weekend, so we were left in the dark about when the movers would actually arrive.
We hired Bekins to pack and move the contents of our house. I explained to the estimator and to the packers when they came that It was important to me that the boxes be properly labeled, minimally with the room the stuff came from, so that we could find things after the fact. I also did pre-pack groupings and left painters tape labels, asking that the labels be applied to boxes containing the labelled things. Since this was during Covid-19, there was no direct supervision or kibitzing.

What a RIP-OFF, not only was their service unsatisfactory, but they charged me $300 to remove my personal property. The Salesman never told me about the $300 pick up charge nor was it in writing anywhere on the contract. As far as the poor service, I called to ask about picking up my 2 containers and how much time they would require, they said "give us 2-3 days".
Do NOT use Bekins AMS or Wheaton for a cross country move. They will damage items and lose/steal boxes. They are borderline criminal. Insurance is pretty much a scam and you won’t get anything back from the damage and losses you incur. And definitely check off every single box before they leave. They’ll make up an excuse to leave quickly before you have the chance to make sure you have all your boxes. Moving is a big life event. You cannot trust this company for a big move.
A member of the AMS Bekins loading crew stole my diamond engagement ring and debit card out of the closet on moving day. Police are investigating, AMS has been unresponsive. So be warned. Yes, my stuff was delivered to the destination, but at the cost of having my ring stolen out of my own house on moving day. We have been married 40 years. The ring’s sentimental value is incalculable. I will never see that ring again. Don’t use this company. They are not to be trusted.

I moved 2,800 miles and did a great deal of research, including meeting with several moving companies, before choosing AMS Bekins. I had sold a two-bedroom house with a garage and had accumulated quite a bit over the years, so I decided to have them pack everything. That turned out to be one of the best decisions I made—it eliminated the enormous amount of time, work, and stress involved in packing an entire house. My belongings needed to go into storage for seven months while my new home was being built.
AMS Bekins packed and moved me across the US. Their quote was competitive compared to the other major van lines, and the actual cost came in slightly under the estimate. I'm now nearly unpacked, and haven't found a single broken item. Highly recommend.

The service was perfect, from the sales process all the way through unloading the items at my new home.
