ATX Firefighter Moving

Horrible experience!! Mover was extremely unprofessional! Movers canceled on me 1 hour before my move was scheduled (because they only had 2 movers, when I requested 3 movers)! Then they asked to move it to Sunday @ 12p. Then only 1 (out of the 3) movers showed up (yes only 1 mover!) And he was 2 hours late! I was livid, because I had already had to reschedule everything on Friday to Sunday (and hire a babysitter again!

This was the WORST move ever. The problems began with the arrival window. I was scheduled for a mid-morning move between 9 and 11 a.m., and I was told to expect an automated text when the crew was en route. That did not happen. Instead, I received a phone call at 10:56 a.m. stating they were on the way and would arrive in 20 minutes. The crew didn’t actually arrive until 11:48 a.m., and I only received the automated text after they showed up.

* Editing to add: I've reached out to the owner on more than one occasion with no response. Please take a look at their BBB grade as well. They obviously have no intentions of reimbursing for damage or anything else. I've had two moves with this company. The first was May 2024 and it was phenomenal. Which is why I went with them again last week. My experience was vastly different. One person arrived with the truck a few minutes after 9.

Review of ATX Firefighter Moving: Extremely Disappointing I engaged ATX Firefighter Moving for our recent move, hoping their reputation as firefighters would ensure professionalism and care. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Positive: None worth mentioning. Negatives: Poor Handling of Belongings: Numerous items were broken and scratched due to careless handling by the movers.

Horrible company! Don’t trust them. First, never trust a company that treats their workers poorly. I could write a novel, but I will summarize. We made our reservation over a month in advance with Keifer (sp). A week out he called us to ask for a favor. They wanted to do another “quick” move and asked if we could move our time to mid afternoon. Trying to be kind, we agreed. Turns out this move was on the other side of town which then made them over 2 hours late from our NEW time.

These were the first movers I contacted and spoke with the only salesman Kiefer who agreed to come by and do a physical estimate as I was concerned about needing more than one trip. This was July 19th. It was raining that day so we both decided to reschedule. I ask several times to reschedule and even called again and spoke to him a few days later. On July 26th we decided just to do a written estimate and he would send that over right away. Still waiting. So this morning he calls.

I want to say we liked this company, but I can't. With us moving 5 hours away, we were so excited to hire a company to come in and pack our entire house up, and then move it for us. We've done it before with a different company and it was amazing, but not this time around. After loading up all of our stuff, we were notified that they were able to get 95% of the house - but if we wanted them to get the rest, we would be paying an additional $2,000.

Let me start with the positive. These guys are pretty good for moving. Moving items was a breeze, the guys they sent, Daniel and Michael were solid. However, when it comes to packing, it was absolute horror. We had booked, both, packing and moving services. Packing was a day before. The two guys who show up told us that they were packing for the first time. They didn't have any foam, bubble wrap or even scissors. The guys were cutting tape with their teeth.
