ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. NO CARE WAS TAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFE MOVING OF MY ITEMS— THEY BROKE MY BED FRAME AND SNEAKILY TRIED TO TAPE IT UP AND MOVE IT. THEY LATER TRIED TO TELL ME THEY DIDNT KNOW IT WAS BROKEN... WHEN LITERALLY, THEY BROKE IT THEN TAPED IT UP. I WAS THEN BERATED BY THE MANAGER— JOHN. MY BLACK LEATHER COUCH WAS SCRAPED UP FROM BEING DRAGGED ACROSS THE CONCRETE AND INTO THE MOVING VAN. COMPANY DOES NOT PROVIDE FURNITURE PADDING TO ENSURE SAFE TRANSPORT OF YOUR ITEMS. NEVER AGAIN.

TL/DR: shady looking individuals show up and try to take you for all they think they can get. Details: Absolutely terrible! I have no idea how this company gets positive reviews. One star because zero stars is not an option. My experience was that they arrived on time with three guys. The car they arrived in was an at least 14 year old Grand Marquis. Of the three, one guy looked like a mover, and worked hard too. One other guy looked like he could work if motivated, and did while he was assisting the first guy.

Crew showed up about 45 minutes late (Herb, Freeman & Daryl), however, I was advised this may be the case as they had a previous job they were coming from. I only requested 2 guys, yet 3 showed up. I specifically pulled the crew aside prior to starting and emphasized quality over quantity. I wanted the job done right before done fast.

Big Guy Mover was recommended to me as a POD unpacking service in Southeastern Michigan. The process was very fair. On site, they assessed my bi-level home and unpacked many boxes, heavy furniture to the upstairs and took a very short time. They were respectful of my things, efficient at the tasks needed and expert at their job. I will use them again based on this quality experience.

A cross country move from New Orleans to Detroit was perfectly punctuated with Big Guy for Hire. We managed, somehow, to load our 26' rental moving truck all on our own in Louisiana, drive across the country in two days, and get about halfway through unpacking before the exhaustion hit. Luckily, we had coordinated with Big Guy for Hire to help with the "big stuff" and two of their top guys showed up on time and worked with careful efficiency to get us fully moved into our new home.

My original movers cancelled last minute, leaving me scrambling to cover a Saturday afternoon move. John at Big Guy was super responsive, and staffed Darren and Chris on the job on very short notice. They showed up on time, moved everything swiftly but carefully, and got the job done in the short amount of time I was hoping. Great human communication, no annoying portal to navigate for the reservation. Highly recommended!
