My interstate move involved Allied Van Lines, Bailey’s Moving & Storage, and Blue Chip Moving & Storage, and it ended up being one of the most stressful experiences I’ve had as a customer. When I hired Allied, I genuinely believed I was choosing a reputable national company that would handle my belongings with care and professionalism. Moving your entire household requires a lot of trust, and I trusted that the company I hired would keep me informed and take responsibility if something went wrong.
Kristen I am sorry that your move did not go as planned. We do unfortunately have to deal with breakdowns and they can cause delays, but that does not excuse any lack of communication to you.
Really bad service. The company was supposed to send me the pricing for moving everything to from CA to Chile on Friday and my moving day was on Wednesday. I called them every single day in the morning and in the afternoon, because every day they where telling me that they will send me the information or in the afternoon or next morning. So on Wednesday that was the moving day, I was freaking out as I was not able to confirm them if I was going to take their service or not.
HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! Beware!!!! They will literally hold your things hostage, not show up for scheduled delivery dates and then try to scam more money out of you. Completely unethical business practices! I had to sue them (yes, I won!!) to put a stop to their bad behavior!! Do yourself a favor and put your money and belongings elsewhere!
We moved cross country with Allied, which sub-contracted to bluechip. We had more damage than with any other move and it has taken ages to get a claim settled for the damages. We did not select bluechip, but Allied, which i think subcontracted with bluechip. Would i have known i would not have done that.
Just had the worst experience. This was a military move. Every one of these items was boxed and/or wrapped by the moving company in New York. Our understanding was that all items would be put away in CA in the same manner that they were picked up from in NY. All of our folded clothing was unpacked from boxes and thrown onto our bed along with our perfume and colognes. 3 trays of my make up were unpacked from boxes and thrown onto the bed. My bare wax candles were unpacked from boxes and thrown onto our bed.
Ppl inside and workers are pleasant however as a trucker being unloaded, they left a massive amount of trash in my trailer. I knew something was up when they finished the guy asked me for my lock to lock an empty trailer, stupid dummy told on himself so I went to inspect my trailer for damages instead I see nothing but trash they decided to leave so I politely grab all the trash and dropped it in front of there loading door sad part is there was a trash can not to far away.
They are good about getting you an estimate. The crew who shows up does a good job with the physical move. Horrible follow through on the part of their office staff. Good luck getting a question answered. If they need more info or another form you will only find out after the fact. Who knows when your stuff will show up. The estimator will provide a date but of course that doesn’t show up in the paperwork or in their app. Perhaps they think it is fun to keep it a secret.
If I could give this moving company less than one star I would! They did our military move. When they got to our apartment they took so long and were unprofessional, so I told them just to unload the boxes and not unpack. After 6 hours they had my one bedroom moved in. He told me I had 180 days to file a claim. We did. We were missing multiple boxes and pieces to our furniture.

Planning a cross-country move from a long time home is nerve-wracking and expensive. Since we had already moved our stuff into storage, we had a tough time getting estimates we trusted from movers who couldn’t walk through the house, with weight and volume estimates that varied widely. Finally, a friend recommended Allied from his recent move - and we couldn’t have been happier with the company and their LA partner, Blue Chip.
Super great service. They were the only company to come to my house in person to give me an estimate. The pricing was competitive with other moving companies of the same caliber. The Initial moving team that loaded the truck. Was very professional and handled everything with ease. Any issue I had the quote from that crew was “I Got You.” They had solution solutions to all of my moving needs, including creating a Remington bronze statue.

Hiring a moving team for our family’s 2,583 move from California to Florida was a major decision. I moved from Southern California to Central Oregon in January. I had never lived outside Southern California, and never moved more than 10 miles away, so I was very nervous about the entire process. I got 5 quotes, two in person and three virtual. One of the in person quotes was from Duane Morgan at Blue Chip/Allied. He was kind, and always promptly answered the many questions I texted him after receiving my quote, which was also the lowest. I had a small move, which he estimated at 4,000 pounds.
