BEWARE! Let me start out by saying that I had very high hopes for this moving company (The Movers of Redondo Beach), after reading reviews last October, 2019, that was until they sent two movers, one of which proved to be unethical and ultimately a threatening individual. I will explain starting with the aftermath of the most inefficient and highly costly move that I have experienced to date!
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I BOOKED THEM OVER A WEEK IN ADVANCE AND FOR 3 MOVERS AND 24FT TRUCK. THE MOVERS ARRIVE WITH ONLY 2 MOVERS AND 16FT TRUCK. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THE TRUCK I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE AND HE SAID HE WOULD BE RIGHT BACK WITH THE CORRECT TRUCK, I EVEN CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD DONT WORRY THE MOVERS WOULD BE BACK AROUND 2-6P ONCE 6P CAME, NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN AND NOW NO ONE IS ANSWERING EVENTHOUGH THEIR WEBSITE SAYS THEY'RE OPEN TIL 8P.
To start, The movers were fantastic. Here is my main issue. We discussed a payment of $169 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours. Fair enough. I event have the receipts and email confirmation to prove this. We weren't to hard on our movers and get them our in 2:15 total. The issue, upon payment it was brought up we needed to pay them for "double drive time". The person even brought up a California Labor Law website. The additional fee was $175, in cash which was shocking.
If u like ur belongings that u worked hard for, DO NOT hire this company!! They dropped my brand new LG dryer then the movers tricked my wife and had her sign this paper saying that the item was too large... when really it was a release form for washer and dryer...u would think that they would enough sufficient insurance ..but no they offered $100 for my 2000$ broken dryer..after telling them how much it cost to fix..
We were moving my elderly mother into her new home. She has a lot of little things she is very attached to. They called 1hour after the estimated pick-up time and cancelled, leaving us to scramble to deliver her things to her new home. They did not offer a discount for rescheduling, or a reason.
This company is a scam. They’re not located in Redondo Beach and just outsource the jobs. Took advantage of my 80 yr old client and there’s no way of speaking to a manager or getting your money back.
