We used BMS for a long distance move, from Southern California to Northern California. While the response time and service before the move was good, the move itself was not. The movers were rough as they loaded our cherished items into a storage unit. More than once I observed the men literally tossing boxes that were labeled "fragile". The foreman did nothing.
I would not recommend these movers. They broke my $1,400 chair in 3 places. They admitted that it wasn’t wrapped properly and said they would fix it. After a month of hounding them for an eta they delivered the chair today and it looks horrible. I have two - the original chair is a shiny wood, the one they fixed it matte finish and the three areas they broke it looks like they glued it together and it’s bubbly and looks awful. I have emailed them and texted them and no response. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!
If any of you are moving or know someone that will be moving soon or every, tell them to NOT use Bekins / Wheaton moving companies. Not only did they delay our pick up, forcing me to rebook a flight and pay more …
Beware- tools stolen and increase charges and broken items. This was for a move from CA to CT. Bekins rep, came out and quoted $9000 for 4 bedroom house and they would pack stuff in garage since my husband was already working in another state. Movers arrived and weren’t aware that they needed to finish packing stuff even though I suggested to rep that they should arrive Day before to pack.
I have to say we are very disappointed in the service and care of our household items. We had selected another moving company originally, but after a recommendation from a friend and the fact that Bekins has been in business a very long time, we canceled with the other company. The standard of care and service was certainly not as expected. We already have noted damaged items.

The staff at BMS was very helpful and professional. They were very understanding of my personal situation with regards to me having to move my mom's furniture. The movers were very nice and did an excellent job with making sure the furniture was wrapped correctly and it was stored in the storage vault neatly. They were prompt and fast.
