This has been the worst experience. For starters my boyfriend had his 4-wheeler ATV stolen out of his unit by a Bowmans employee a few months back. The storage was very unhelpful and secretive during the entire investigation. Thankfully he is very proactive and found his ATV listed on Facebook Market a few hours away from Frederick and was able to recover it.

Some of my items appeared to have moisture damage when I was retrieving them. Aside from that, you’ll think you have a locked in rate and they’ll try to jack your rate on you after a very short time. They claim "only one increase issued since move in". Technically it was two because it was two units. One per unit is more accurate but that isn't what they claimed. Yes, one is because a promo rate (which I wasn't aware of it being a promo rate) ended but does that matter to YOUR pocket book?

I don't recommend Bowman storage for anyone seeking to store their RV. In fact, I recommend fellow RV'ers avoid Bowman's altogether. I rented a space in Nov 2011 and took the motorhome out four times in six months. Each time I received a nasty letter from the management that I had violated their storage policy, primarily that I had taken too long to pick up or drop off the coach.
Bowman Plains has been under new management since September, 2013. I am the new manager and would like to invite you back to visit the property and possibly earn back your business. When folks are taking their RV off the property, they are likely about to drive it for a very long distance.
This is my third time coming back to Bowman Plains. The place where I was storing decided out of nowhere to just kick everyone out with a 30 day notice because they’ve decide to use that facility for other purposes. (That company was Digging and Rigging and will never get any business from me). As for Bowman Plains the facility is clean and the customer support excellent. Getting into and out is a breeze as well. Mike made signing up very easy.

I had a frustrating experience with the secretary, who I believe was intentionally deceptive. She said she would email me so I could reply, but I never received the email. The next day, I called first thing, but when I mentioned that I hadn't received it and tried sending it to the other two email addresses I found, but it kept coming back as "undeliverable." She insisted that she had sent it, but regardless I had already been charged extra for the month.

Bowman’s is a great, secure storage facility. However, they jacked up our rent significantly twice in less than a year. That questionable business practice led us to move our RV to another facility.

The front desk lady was very rude the other day. I’m not sure how anyone like her would ever work in customer service. It’s not hard to be nice.

In their own words
Good service, but the facilities are in need of some updating and repair; there are a few potholes in the pavement, and the outer walls have some dents where customers have backed into them. Also, at least in the building where my unit was located, there's some minor dust and dirt accumulation, and there's a large grimy stain near the entrance where the doormat has been removed.
