Cambridge Movers Good Ol Boys Moving

We hired good ol boys for a move from Ontario to Alberta. Oh boy, what a stressful move that was. Good ol’ boys are not the ones moving, they will subcontract you to another company. They put our stuff on the truck that was unloaded and then reloaded on the trailer that actually went to Alberta. I’m not gonna get into details as to how many things were damaged during the move let alone “lost”. We had to throw the entire couch because it came in pieces, screws missing, springs damaged.

From my experience, this moving company just heartlessly robs hardworking people already dealing with a lot in the middle of a stressful and tiring move. When I called them for a quote, I provided my list of items, and mentioned from Cambridge to Fergus, I was told it would be 5 hrs @ $129/hr. I agreed for 5hrs @ $129/hr and paid for 1hr in advance for the booking. I even told the guy that I hope that I won't get any unpleasant surprise. He told me if your list is correct you won't.

We used them to move from Ontario to Saskatchewan, our move was a month late where no communication throughout was provided I had to phone numerous times, and then we were out of the country when the move eventually came we then confirmed that our neighbors will open the house and receive the items but they cannot confirm if it is complete and correct we will only be ablebto that upon our return, after we then returned we found that our couch was broken fridge had dents and parts missing so the ice, water…

I will generously give this company 1 star. I called Good ol Boys Moving and spoke to Jesse. Informed him my mother and I were moving and we were only going to need the heavy furniture pieces moved, no bins or boxes. We were trying to make it as inexpensive as possible. Quoted $129 per hour, 2 guys. Gave $129 deposit. Mentioned several times about only probably being 2 hours to load and unload. Moving 5 minutes away. Went to pay at end and told $499. I'm shocked. I got a little upset.

They were over a half hour late, took their time, my daughter's and I did most of the work and double charged me from the quote. Had no appliances to move. Moved two blocks over, two bedroom sets and boxes as the rest of my furniture I bought and delivered later. I was charged over $800 local move in Brantford...the last item they kept on the Truck was my screen tv which they held until payment was made...that's how they operate...very appalling. They're not professionals but charge outrageous prices.

I booked with “Kitchener Moving Service” but when I got the quote I found they are Good Ol Boys Moving. I was given a time frame of arrival to unload a storage pod in my driveway of 2 - 4. At 4:11 when I they had not arrived or I heard from anyone I texted who set up the move. I still not did hear back. At 4:40 I texted asking if this company was a scam and if I needed to find someone else. Finally after that text I got a reply at 4:42. At 4:49 I was told they would be here in 25-30 minutes.

WORSE EVER MOVERS Will never recommend GOOD OL BOYS MOVERS to anyone. Nicole was pleasant - but their quote caused me to cancel other movers and ended up paying $850 more than estimated. The movers were EXTREMELY slow and also took 3 hours driving for a 1 and 1/2-hour driving trip. They took about 11 hours for moving on a 1- and 1/2-hour trip on my expense and no Re-assemble had to be done.

In 2020 they gave us 10% off to review before the move. Red Flag. If they would like I can go in to much more detail or just take the 1 star. I did speak with Nicole after to explain the issues and she apologized. I was not seeking anything in return. Short answer, 1 bedroom move went hours over time (extra paid) and I had to help load the truck while one fella smoked and ate a slim Jim. I didn’t cheap out and paid for exactly how much time they recommended. It still wasn’t enough.
