Horrible experience. They charged $500/ more than the quoted price. Movers broke our screen door, although they claim they are insured, they never fixed the door. STAY AWAY from this company. The response is a lie, as everything else with the company. They are CROOKS, Stay away
while we agree that moves can be a stressful time for many families, we're more than a little perplexed by your review. On three separate occasions we provided you a very clear price quote and documentation that stated very plainly that there would be a 1-hour travel time charge.
The video on their website starts with "have you ever experienced a nightmare move?" Yes: Charming Movers was a nightmare. We had a written agreement by Charming Movers and was contacted by Cheri 9:30pm the night before we were supposed to move saying their truck was stuck down in Florida. We were to move 8:00am the next morning and settle on a sale of the house. We were desperate.
Charming Movers were just as the name states - Charming until they get you under contract. The owner came out to our home prior to making the contract to survey our home. We completely walked through the home describing the contents of each room and all the closets. During this time she counted (owner) counted the amount of wardrobe boxes needed to move our hanging clothing - 18 total. Outside she was told a grill, shed, and a smoker.
While we appreciate all feedback, in this case Mr. Brooks requested an emergency change in his scheduled move date on very short notice. All of our trucks with the exception of one were already on previously scheduled moves for that same day, so to accommodate Mr.
This company has to be AVOIDED at all costs. They promised my wife that time charges exclude movers travel time to and fro to location of performance and that all packaging material was included (it even says that on their website) and gave her an estimate. In the morning I signed papers they gave in good faith assuming they reflect the agreement without reading them as you can imagine what a single family move day looks like.

Movers were great. They packed and moved my house. I was quoted $2,200 plus incidentals and extra time. I ended up paying over $5,300 because “it took so long”. Yes it took a long time but being “experienced movers” the person coming out should’ve had a better idea of cost because they saw the amount of stuff I had and they had the address so they should’ve figured the distance and time to the new house. I feel like they severely under quoted me so I wouldn’t get any other quotes which I did not.

My husband and I used Charming Movers for our move from Rockville to our new home. This is the first time we've ever hired movers and it was a wonderful experience. We needed them to move furniture and boxes from our home plus a full room at a rented storage space. The customer service was quick and responsive, and it was easy to set up our move. The movers themselves were fantastic. They were efficient and quick but careful with our belongings.

When we sold our house we needed to move all our stuff into storage for a few months before we made our move from Virginia to Maine. When Tony came to the house and assessed the move, he explained how they would handle the process. He made it seem that it would simple and there would be no issues. Well, he was right. The Charming team of movers arrived on time and emptied the home quickly and carefully. They wrapped everything that we hadn't boxed up.
Charming Movers is the overall best and number 1 moving company ever. The staff is so charming and professional and made sure our move from New York City to Fairfax Virginia. All the staff, Suki, Maddie and Cheri made sure all our needs were met and at a very fair price. Omar was such a nice driver and he and his moving crew were fantastic and set up everything for us with white glove service and we highly appreciate everything that Charming Movers did for us.

UPDATE: I used Charming Movers again to move my mother from a very large home into an apartment in a senior living community. It was a very difficult day for her and the team at Charming was so compassionate. They were great with her, and once again, moved everything without a single scratch. Including her baby grand piano. Special thanks to Cheri, Maddie and the dream team: Omar, Gomez, Gelmer and Wilmer. You guys rocked it out and made a difficult day for my mother as easy and smooth as it could’ve been.
