Potential Customers: PLEASE READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS to understand the potential risks with Name Your Price Movers. I really wanted to give the benefit of the doubt here, but finally at a point where I think it is important to share my experience. After reading the other 1 star reviews here, I find it shocking how similar my experience was with NYP Movers. To me this signals that they dont seem to care about improving their customer experience as the same issues happen over and over.
Andy, we sincerely apologize about the late check for your refund. You will receive a check for $100 within 7 days.
Unfortunately I would have to say I would not recommend Name Your Price Movers after my move yesterday. I was quoted a move that would take between 4-6 hours. With 3 movers it ended up being 8.5 hours according to the lead mover (I dont agree with the half hour but whatever). The final payment was MORE THAN DOUBLE what I was quoted. The name of the company is literally "Name Your Price Movers" but the price I had to pay (almost 2k after being quoted $760) was not even a price I was considering!

I previously had a great experience with Name Your Price Movers last year. Unfortunately this experience was not replicated this year. I requested the same mover I had last year and was advised it would be notated. I reminded the owner of my request multiple times. Day of move comes and 3 new movers were present. No communication was provided by the owner stating the prior mover was not available. Movers were causing time delays, especially the "lead" mover.
I had a less than favorable experience with Name Your Price. I reached out via the thumbtack site and left a message to voice my concerns but have not received any follow up correspondence since Sept 20th. I awaited a few days to assess whether they would reach out to me after my 9/17 move but they never did. Here was my experience via the unanswered message that I sent: Good afternoon, The lead guy (Dan) said that he spoke with you regarding the damage to my wall.
Hi Tieya, We’re sorry you feel that you had a less-than-favorable experience with us. We did have to reschedule, as there was supposed to be a huge storm coming. We made the decision to close down to ensure all of our employees were safe through the storm.
The movers were very nice and respectful and the price was really good HOWEVER the move itself was extremely disorganized (small stuff moved a little at a time, furniture set up at the end). We were left with furniture that they could not figure out how to put back together. We sent them home at around midnight and did it ourselves the next day.
Miss Mona Thank you for your deep inside analysis how the moving process should be handled. However you left out couple of things , we specifically asked to move your mansion in two days to avoid extremely long day of work.
"BUYERS BE AWARE" He gave me a writer contract after visiting my house twice to move my stuff for $2500. One day before the move, I was told that they would not move my 2nd frig in the basement, because his crew did not have the proper equipment . I had to rush to find another mover and pay $350 separate just for one frig. After moving my household, I get a call from him at 5am while his crew were still in my home, stating that he wanted $2000 more. He claimed he had made a mistake in his estimate.
Hmmm At least have decency to speak some truth. You bounced the check for the work and for employees, you bought workers a dollar menu burgers, one for each because allegedly you are cheap.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Contacted them in May of 2021 for a mid-August move. Ben (VP of sales) came to my home for a walkthrough, took pictures and provided me with details about what a move with them would look like. After interviewing other moving companies only went with them b/c they offered storage services, along with the move. Signed a "contract" (well what I thought was a contract) early June for the August move.

NAME YOUR PRICE MOVERS. Rating F OR NO STARS!!! These movers were completely duplicitous, lying, and cheating. So I am taking the time to review them and detail the experience. The move entailed the packing of a storage, 2 hour drive, and unloading. The quote was for $750. When the movers showed up they then showed a contract that included information that the cost would be computed by time. Nowhere on the quote is there any mention of cost of time.
Let us take our time and respond to your statement; We quoted 150 per hour with 300 dollar fuel fee since it was a long-distance move based under the three-hour minimum. The move took 7 hours to complete taking into account there was 109 miles distance to drive.

If you are looking for movers, I HIGHLY recommend NYPM. My husband and I used NYPM this past weekend and they were outstanding. This was our first time using movers and we were hesitant at first to use a moving company because it's expensive and we've heard horror stories about other moving companies breaking things, but this was truly such an incredible experience for us. Ali was extremely helpful from the start.
Update - April 2018 for my second move with Name Your Price Movers From start to finish, once again, Name Your Price Movers made moving much less stressful. As soon as I posted a request online, I heard back from Ali. All of my questions were answered within a few hours. Ali accommodated the changes/requests that I made and Yehor kept in touch during the move, letting me know when they would arrive to move me and throughout the process. Yehor and Mohammad were polite and efficient during the move.
From start to finish we can sing nothing but the highest praises for Name Your Price Movers. After reading tons of reviews and receiving comparable quotes from other companies, NYPM actually offered us an opportunity to do just that, name our own price. The flexibility from management, the clear and open communication and electronic payment system where all superb. The three gentlemen that moved us were courteous, considerate and very efficient.

Truly the BEST moving experience I have EVER had!! I’m going to delve into my experience, but the main points are: great pricing, wonderful customer service, superb packing/moving skills! I decided to move from VA to MD and I found Name Your Price (NYP) Movers (I could not be happier that I did!) I had been in my place for 5 years and I was truly dreading the whole process of packing up and moving. The folks at NYP responded quickly to my request for a quote, and got me scheduled easily.
