College Bound Movers

College Bound movers assisted us with a move recently. Was only 12-15 items. We were expecting professionalism and expertise but it was half-ass and lazy. Dragging fragile furniture around, banging TVs into door frames, and misleading how some of the items would be stored on the truck during the move. 4 of the items were significantly damaged during the move (~25% of the total amount of items).

TL;DR - More damage than there should have been, disregard for my possessions. Assembled my bed incorrectly and it fell apart. I used the Right Move Moving Company out of Methuen for a separate part of my move and I strongly recommend using them, instead! Pros: The movers arrived relatively on time (within 15 minutes of scheduled start) and were cordial. Cons: Damage to items: Three of my items were significantly damaged by CBM.

I will never recommend this company. I am horrified at the experience my parents had. Gouges, not just scratches, on multiple pieces of furniture including their dining room set and bedroom furniture. I understand that sometimes on occasion you might get a scratch or two in moving but this is pure carelessness!!!! My parents had to use black ink on these gouges to at least make it presentable until they can get this furniture refurbished. Terrible and not acceptable!

UPDATE: We have sought reimbursement for our TV. They have offered $500, and we stated we accept this offer. After 3 weeks and 3 follow up emails to inquire as to when we would receive this, I heard from a different person. I have been asked to sign a release in order to receive reimbursement for the loss of our TV. This release stipulates I agree to no further action regarding any loss of property and that I agree to not review or discuss the company in a negative manner on social media.

Sadly for a day that was a big moment in our lives and my only time ever moving it was ruined. A crew of 3 that weren’t trained or experienced enough to negotiate angles and certainly not caring enough handling other people’s furniture or instructions of what to move and ways to avoid damage. Lucky to get one star … I wouldn’t recommend this outfit to anyone as it was over a week ago and I am still waiting for a call from them to address the damage to our furniture as well as the sneakiness of hiding other damage!

Update: 6/8/26 even with the response below to this review, I’ve still not heard from any managers or the owner, despite numerous more attempts to reach out and have my concerns addressed. My move was on April 30th I have moved about 30 times over the last 25 years and this was the most inefficient, slow, and property damaging move I have ever experienced. I have spoken to a manager at their office multiple times and they have helped with the damages partially ( refunding charges for service items I did not use).

The crew was very nice and hard working. They broke 2 of my lamps but this isn’t a big deal and I told them as much. They’re very fragile. But my 50 inch tv was broken as well. You couldn’t tell the screen was cracked until you turned it on. I’m also noticing a lot of deep gouges and scratches on my bedroom furniture that weren’t there before. Shrink wrapping furniture does nothing to protect it.

Not a good experience. No fault on the guys they sent, shame on the scheduling staff. I hired them to move 3 items, including a very heavy safe that needed to go down a flight of stairs. I sent them a photo and the specifications (weight and size) for the safe in advance. They called me two days in advance to tell me they needed to send a crew of four, not three as originally planned. The cost was approximately $200 more. I said ok.
